For me, I see similarities with lab rats and mice. While one could make a case that all animals want to live and you shouldn’t do anything to them, one will also have to consider that the animal wouldn’t even have been born, if it weren’t for the need to study.

Just like those cows, they’re born and bred for burgers and steaks otherwise they might not even be alive at all.
