Per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Hurts worked with the first-team offense to kick off Week 18 prep, but his eventual workload wasn't enough for him to be considered a full participant. There's an expectation that Hurts will return from a two-game absence Sunday against the Giants, but he may need to log full activity in a practice to prove he's past his sprained right throwing shoulder.

What is this shit about not being able to schedule the game because right now all they want to do is focus on the health of the player?

How are the two even related? What can the scheduling folks possibly do for the player now? Maybe they can do their job.

It sure looks like they suspended the game for optics, and are continuing the optics.

We've seen players get paralyized on the field and 20 minutes later they are playing football. I'm trying to have empathy, but it doesn't feel right here.

What would Hamlin want? Would he want them to quit, or to keep playing?

Dude almost died, not your typical injury where everyone is clapping as he leaves the field. I don't think the word injury alone captures the severity of the situation. It was a life threatening emergency, they didn't even know if he was alive or stable afterwards, brain dead. Must be pretty distressing to witness for close friends/teammates, not surprising to me at all they didn't play. Optics/good relations with fans, sponsors, NFLPA, could be part of it, maybe not the sole factor in their decisionmaking. CPR for 10 minutes supposedly not good at all.

Was having a conversation with a relative about how laypeople misunderstand CPR and TV/movies fuel misconceptions. Negative outcomes are very common, especially the longer it takes.

“The majority of patients and non-medical personnel have very unrealistic expectations about the success of CPR as well as the quality of life after patients are revived,” said lead author Lindsey Ouellette, a research assistant at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids.
