It took me awhile to realize weather was the cause. I remember being in my old office, century city, 33 floors up with a glass wall pointing west to santa monica and the ocean.

I was working one night and all the sudden the shit hit the fan. I had to put my head down. Next thing you know this crazy weather system just starts beating the windows, down pour and wind. Crazy.

That was more than 20 years ago.

Your mom was never wrong, you were just on the edge of a system and it was weather somewher nearby.

It's the edges of the sytems that are the worst, when they come and go. I was down and out before there was ever a rain drop.

Yeah man... She would always say something along the lines of "bad weather coming" or "rain coming" or some shit like that because she could feel it in her legs.

Dad would say "bullshit, the weather is fine", looking out the window.

LOL... Mom was a better Meteorologist than Dad was I came to learn.

So true. It's because the changes that matter, like the barometer, happen first. Sometimes there's relief while the storm is over head, but then it comes back when the storm leaves.

It's like a reverse hurricane eye.
