The Song "Who Made Who" By AC/DC - Does Anyone Know Who Made Who? I Need To Know.

I think I was 10 years old when I heard this song. Thought it was a cool jam. 26 years later... did this song tell the future? Was it written by Brian Johnson? Did Stephen King have anything to do with it? Was the song originally made for the movie? Or was it just a coincidence they used it in the soundtrack?

Some of the lyrics have to make you wonder...

    Satellites send me picture
Get it in the eye, take it to the world

    Who made who?
    Who made you?
    Ain't nobody told you?

If you made them and they made you
Who picked up the bill and who made who?

Kicks you round the world, there ain't a thing that it can't do
    Do to you

I want to know who made who damn it.

Who Made Who is a hard rock album by Australian band AC/DC, released in 1986 as the soundtrack to the Stephen King movie Maximum Overdrive. King would allude to the album's title song in the 1990 revised and expanded edition of his novel The Stand, where one of the novel's characters changes the lyrics to "Flu made who." Three tracks on the album – "Who Made Who" and the instrumentals "D.T." and "Chase the Ace" – were newly written and recorded by AC/DC. The rest were taken from the band's previous albums. Only one song, "Ride On", is from the Bon Scott era; all of the others feature Brian Johnson. Who Made Who reached #11 in the UK[4] and #33 in the US,[5] and has sold five million copies in the US. It was re-released in 2003 as part of the AC/DC Remasters series.
Along with the album, the band released a video tape which contained music videos for the songs "Who Made Who", "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Shake Your Foundations", "Hells Bells", and footage from a live performance of "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)" which was filmed in Detroit in 1983.

Years ago, I was given an explanation to other AC/DC lyrics from a friend that knew a bit about Australia. You always got to remember where they are from when it comes to their tunes (esp the old ones). Couple nice comments here, with the lyrics.

Who Made Who Lyrics & Meanings: The video game says, "Play me" / Face it on a level, but it take you every time on a one-on-one / Feelin' running down your spine / Nothin' gonna save your one last dime, 'cause it own you / Through and through / / The databank know my number / Says I got to pay, 'cause I made the grade last year / Feel it when I turn the screw / Kick you 'round the world / There ain’t a thing that it can't do / Do to you, yeah / / Who made who, who made you? / Who made who, ain’t nobody told you? / Who made who, who made you? / If you made them and they made you / Who picked up the bill and who made who? / Yeah / Who made who / Who turned the screw? / / Yeah / Yeah / / Yeah, satellites send me picture / Get it in the eye, take it to the wire / Spinning like a dynamo / Feel it going 'round and 'round / Running out of chips, you got no line in an eight-bit town / So don't look down, no / / Who made who, who made you? / Who made who, ain't nobody told you? / Who made who, who made you? / If you made them and they made you / Who picked up the bill and who made who? / Ain't nobody told you / Oh, who made who? / Who made you? / Who made who (who made who) / And who made who (who made who) / Yeah / / Oh / Nobody told you (nobody told you)

Who made who is one of my all time favorite AC/DC songs. I was 11 or 12 when that song came out.

The song was basically about machines beginning to become so advanced (back in the 80's) that they were starting to control people's lives, so it wasn't really a glimpse into the future, but instead a touch on the current state of machinery/technology. Which made for a great title song for a pretty cool movie in Maximum Overdrive.

Out of all of the movies that have been remade, this one is one that I would love to see happen.

The song was written by Angus Young, Malcom Young, and Brian Johnson
