I grew up listening to Beatle's music(and still do). The Who was there too, but didn't impact me the way that the Beatles did. Granted, the Beatles were already broken up for 4 years before I was even born, but well, you get the picture.

The beatles impacted everyone, because they were...THE BEATLES, the "tip of the spear" so to speak....but I was never a big beatles fan...loved the white album, Sgt Pepper, some miscellaneous stuff....good stuff. but not hard enough rockin for me....Actually I loved the Stones the most .....then Mick Taylor left...and that was it for me...but, over the years I grew to appreciate how great the THE WHO was, and how utterly unique and different their music was than anyone else s..........I'm not even sure of their influences......they are just different, and Townsend is SOOOOOOOOO underrated as both a song writer and a guitar player......Tommy does it for me....it's just such unbelievable genius.......Quadrophonia, Who next, Live at Leeds, Meaty, Beaty, Big and Bouncy....etc....just amazing stuff.....too bad Keith died...who knows what would have happened...just like when Bonham died,,zep died...same thing with the Who.....they died....
