Since this morning my lower right side has a sharp/bothersome feel to it. I've been reading it has to be my appendix. Will probably call in tomorrow morning and go see my doc. Anybody else had their appendix removed before? If so is this the first stage?

Had my done a few years ago...if you start to get flu-like symptoms with that right-side stomach pain get to the ER...if it bursts before you get there its gonna be alot worse than it is right now...Comment -
I had a friend that had all the symptoms pointing towards that.
even the Doc's thought it was, until they opened him up for the surgery to remove it and realized his colon had ruptured from DiveritculitisComment -

i had mine out
if the pain starts getting worse just head to the ER
i stayed up all night in pain when it happened, couldnt even drive myself to the ER
laying in the ER and all of a sudden I felt better and asked to leave
thats when they got on the phone to the operating room and rushed me up because it ruptured
whole right side of my body was paralyzed 10 minutes laterComment -

As someone said, even the Doctors can sometimes have a hard time properly diagnosing Appendicitis - I have a friend who went to the doctors in a similar circumstance and it was misdiagnosed as something else and he was sent home. Then it got worse over the next day or so and he went back to the clinic to get a 2nd opinion and the 2nd Dr took one look at him and sent him straight off for emergency surgery.
By this point it had ruptured or burst and he ended up in Intensive Care for about 3 weeks, followed by another 6 weeks or so in hospital recovering. He is alright now, but it was very touch and go at the time and definately not something to mess around with - I would rather get checked and have it be a false alarm than leave it too late and go through what he did !Comment -
