they are saying he was a student randomly running into different classes and stabbing people. another student finally tackled him and wrestled the weapon from him. 4 people are in critical condition.

Too bad nobody else was armed, could have ended sooner...Just today I had a crazy guy run up to my car window and bang on it, guy didn't realize how close he was, if he tried opening the door or punched the window he would be in for a surprise ...lots of loons out there.

Knives are safe. No way Michael Moore and these ladies are going to allow knives to be taken out of their dinner arsenal

Eat your streaks while you can boys...about to be taxed for steak knives and all butter knives properly regulated. We HAVE to save the children from these assault blades.
what is worse? when a Halloween movie happens in real life? Or the fact that the optimistic side to the story is stabbing 15 people is better than shooting them. I don't really call that progress either way. The world is full of some sick mother fukers.

There will conspiracy theories about this too, I am already hearing that the stabbing took place at the order of NRA to make people realize that even knives can kill so there is no reason to ban guns....

It's called sarcasm. The crowd that hates guns has hated them for decades....they wait to pounce on tragedies like Newtown and Columbine and when they don't get their way they just sit silent until another tragedy and tear jerk story and try to rush permanent legislation on knee jerk reaction.
Guns aren't the issue.....assholes who want to kill people are. Trampling rights of hundreds of millions to make a few hundred feel better isn't logical. You want to do real work on gun deaths (minus the majority which are suicides/self inflicted) look at two areas - mental health and street gangs....problem 80% solved.
To put it simply, the govt logic is to immediately ban anything that hurts someone in incremental ways.....sugar makes people fat and gives them diabetes if they choose to eat it...gotta ban it......a few people shoot people...gotta ban guns.....degenerates lose money on online gambling...gotta ban it....each thing punishes tens of millions to get back at a few. The common denominator is still the same in all of these things...personal decisions.

SO after a tsunami the NRA can claim that guns are safe cause water kills people too?
I'd have my money on the guy running from a knife rather than the guy who has to out run a bullet!

We's need them cause the forefathers wanted us to own AR-32 Assault Riffles!

Just because someone wants to preserve a given right doesn't make them a nut.
When you specifically list weapons to be banned in legislation that IS taking it from the people....black and white. No conspiracy there at all....at the end of the day its just a lot of screaming from a vocal minority which is good. NO legislation will pass so we get to keep our weapons.
In the days after the Newtown shooting I remember all the left pundits laughing saying "this paper tiger NRA, they are a myth, they have no clout anymore like in the 80's, times have changed and the govt will pass this legislation....fast forward 4 months to today and guess what....

You're just conjuring up new arguments so you can defend your own statements. You shouldn't have a feeling of pride when you state that institutions like the NRA may have even more power now than they did in the 80's. Even if it were true, which it isn't.
I can tell you get alot of your mis-information from FOX News. Good Luck!

This is just something people say when they don't want to affect change. When's the last time you turned on the news (Not FOX) & watched footage of the last mass stoning at a University Campus? Opened the paper lately & read about the rampant forking deaths at a pre-school?
It's your guns. Like I said earlier in the thread, I'd take my chances against a guy with a fork, knife or rock before I have to gamble on surviving the guy with the AK-47.

im not here to debate gun laws. i am neither pro or anti gun at the moment. my point was that even if all weapons on earth were banned, humans will still be and always be monsters.

JVeg420 - Just stating the reality that the NRA still holds persuasive power regardless of what those who live within the beltway in DC, Manhattan, and Southern Cali may care to see. I can fully understand how they THINK the lobby has lost its power...walk around downtown D.C. enough or the other isolated areas where the pundits reside and it seems like it but head 4 miles north south east or west outside the city and guns are everywhere with normal Americans. And normal people don't consider allowing law abiding citizens to hold a concealed carry permit as a wild west movie or that everyone will suddenly choose to carry M4's on their arms to work.
I'm simply arguing that Senators and Congressmen are smart for not cowering to the little bubbles of screaming and ignoring the other 85% of the nation.

I don't think that they are cowering to the screaming, I think they are cowering to the lobby that infuses their gun money into the legislative branch where it doesn't belong.
Senators & Congressmen make a great deal of money from companies like Lockheed Martin, Smith & Wesson & the like.
So, you are, in fact right. They are very smart but, what your argument fails to convey to me is...."How is this a good thing for the country?"
