Police in Georgia are on high alert, searching door-to-door to find the young men who killed a newborn baby and shot his mother. Sherry West says that two boys came up to her and her 13-month old son while she pushing the baby in a stroller. She said that the two boys demanded her money and said they would kill her if she didn’t give it up.
“He said, ‘I’m gonna kill you if you don’t give me your money,’ and I said, ‘I swear I don’t have any,’” she told WAWS-TV of the encounter with the boys she described as being about 10 and 15 years old.
The woman says that the two boys kept pressing the issue, in spite of her pleas.
“He says, ‘Well, I’m gonna kill your baby,’” she said. “I put my arms over my baby and he shoves me. And then he shot my baby right in the head.”
The woman was also shot in the leg, but her injuries were not life-threatening. She was the only witness to the crime.

The baby’s father, Louis Santiago, talked about the senseless nature of the crime.
“Why? Why my little one? You know? You feel they could have just taken the pocketbook and go,” he said.
There is a $10,000 reward for anyone with information related to the crime. The reward is being offered by the Brunswick Police Department.

They obviously serve no purpose on this planet other than to be a burden on society. This will also be a message sent out to whomever else thinks about pulling this kind of shit in the future.

UPDATE 4:24 p.m. -- BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) -- Police have arrested two teenagers suspected in the shooting death of a baby in a stroller and the wounding of the baby's mother.
Brunswick Police Chief Tobe Green said Friday that 17-year-old De'Marquis Elkins is charged with first-degree murder as an adult.
The 14-year-old is also charged with murder, but he was not identified because he is a juvenile.
The chief said police were still investigating the motive and searching for a weapon.
The mother, Sherry West, said she was walking near her home Thursday morning with her baby, Antonio, when she was approached by two boys who demanded money. She was shot in the leg and a bullet grazed her ear.

Both killers should be put in a sealed room with the father of the baby and several of the baby's relatives while they take turns going to work on them with various sizes of hammers and other tools and video tape it and send a dozen or so copies to the parent's of the killers so they can spread around copies to their family and friends and hopefully spread the word around throughout the neighborhood to possibly deter anyone else who may think about doing this.

If by setup you mean like Susan Smith, where the mother kills her kid(s) and blames it on some random minorities, I think that would be close to impossible. There is no way it would be done in a public place like the sidewalk in her neighborhood. Crazy mothers also usually kill their children in much less violent ways also.

Doesn't appear to be the case anyway.....Have never heard of a case of a suspect killing an infant and not killing the parent. Usually they will kill the adult and let the little kid off

But I was referring to someone either hired or in on the murder as well. Possibly even the mother doing it all which is/was not likely. Basically they will kill the intended victim and the other person in on it will get shot as well (non life threatening) to throw off the investigation

But again, it appears that this is not the case

Baby's death marks 2nd time Georgia mom loses a son to violence

Brunswick, Georgia (CNN) -- The fatal shooting of a 13-month-old boy in his stroller marked the second time mother Sherry West lost a son to violence, she said Saturday.

Her 18-year-old son was stabbed to death in 2008 in New Jersey, she told CNN.

"This is the second child that people have taken from me in a tragic way," West said. "I'm so afraid to have any more babies now. I tried to raise really good kids in a wicked world."

The day after two teenage boys were arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of her baby, West said she was planning to leave Brunswick and return to New Jersey. The boy's father has also been emotionally distraught, West said.

Asked about the person who shot her son, Antonio, West stated: "I hate you and I don't forgive you.

"You killed an innocent human life," she said. "I hope you die for it.

Rifleman, there is a difference in her 18 year old son getting killed back in 2008. He and some other people were going to jump and attack a 17 year old, and her son was the one who had the knife and ended up getting stabbed with it. the 17 year old that they attacked was not charged because the prosecutors decided that it was a case of self defense.
