Since a judge already ruled 22 million was not excessive, he should have held out for at least 20 million, no amount of money is going to make up for what happened to him. More people should sue the government to keep and check and balance on their draconian powers.

There is a reason they don't leave people in solitary confinement, total solitary confinement like this guy obviously was left in, for more than a few days...because you literally will lose your mind. This guy is probably damaged beyond repair now.

Was wondering the same thing so googled it. They knew he was in the cell but he never even went to court. Not sure what they were thinking, it was a drunk driving charge and nobody was even injured.
"Slevin claims that he never saw a judge, and that after three days authorities transfered him to a solitary cell in the jail near the Mexican border without explanation."

There have been innocent men that spent 20+ years in prison that were finally proven innocent that didn't get anywhere near that amount of money for being incarcerated wrongly. This guy was actually guilty.

I wonder why this guy was placed in solitary confinement just for Drinking and Driving. I bet there is more to this story.

Here's my experience at a county jail in Michigan a few years ago for disorderly conduct. I was put on a 12 hour hold. I was in an area that was overcrowded beyond belief. I was given a blanket. The concrete is your bed. There was barely enough room to lie down. One toilet for over 30 guys? Guy on the toilet had to beg for toilet paper. Came an hour later. So crowded only spot left for some right next to the toilet. If you don't post bond you're there until court. That could be who knows how long. I've been to other county jails but this place was inhumane. No room to even walk. To get to the toilet you have to step over and around people. Like I said before I've been to other county jail before (2 others) and I know it's not suppose to be a picnic. But after being released thereI was angry. This story doesn't surprise me. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. What a nightmare. They wanted him to die.

Same story everywhere. Like wilson said, it's not supposed to be a picnic, but it's also not supposed to be inhumane either. So if you don't want your government to be using your tax dollars to infringe upon your rights and treat you like an animal, I urge you to support civil rights groups in your area. Vote out the current draconian governments around the world, and vote for and support libertarian groups that support civil right and freedoms.
The freedom of no one is safe, unless the freedom of everyone is safe.
- Excerpt from the civil liberties association of british coloumbia.
That guy who was locked away and forgotten about could have been your dad/grandfather/brother/son/mom/sister/etc.
Stop the government from mis-managing our tax dollars, that way one day we can all pay less taxes.
