Being White In Philly....LOTS Of Controversy About This
This article has spurred lots of controversy. The mayor has called for an investigation.

My younger son goes to Temple, where he’s a sophomore. This year he’s living in an apartment with two friends at 19th and Diamond, just a few blocks from campus. It’s a dangerous neighborhood. Whenever I go see Nick, I get antsy and wonder what I was thinking, allowing him to rent there.

Whites, race, class, and the things that never get said. Read more about race in Philadelphia.

Investigate what? Being white in North or West Philly hasn't changed since 1970. In fact, it's gotten much better since the 1980s and since Rendell was in office.

My experience is that whites allow themselves to be bullied about race due to their ignorance of history and "liberal guilt" foisted upon them at an early age by the Teachers' Unions members who pose as educators. They are a cancer that is(has) destroying America.

Did you read any of the comments to the story?

White kids growing up in a black school/neighborhood saying it was hell. They said their liberal parents wanted them to experience diversity. Thanks mom and dad. They later moved to white neighborhoods and nobody would believe what they went through because it didn't fit the storyline.

The other one is white people growing up in a black neighborhoods around lots of crime but don't you dare mention race because people are people and crime happens anywhere. That's awesome logic. People are people.
