Recovering from LASIK eye surgery... Any tips???

Sign the consent form and lay the 20 Units down before I actually see the surgeon right before the procedure. Then he tells me that my eyes will be VERY irritated.

Im like, dude, everyone else up to this point (Nurses and docs) have said how easy and painless this is....

Guy just laughs. Then he asked me if I had an concerns. I'm like, whats my worst case scenario.. I go fuggin blind right??? He just laughs again and said I'll be fine.

I got PRK(like the fighter pilots get) which it sounds like you got, not Lasik. Your eyes will feel like they have dirty contacts in them for about 3 days and the blurriness will last a lot longer depending on how fast you heal. I have better than 20/20 though. It's not that painful just a little annoying sack up and be a man! lol If you got real Lasik it should only be annoying for a few hours

Had mine done 5 years ago and never felt any discomfort. You are not suppose to be reading on the computer or watching tv the first day. Just rest your eyes and leave shades on.

My wife alternated Rostasis and the Tear stuff.....definitely worth it once the first few days are over. You'll be seeing the points on Bucks at 500 yards

Getting better already. Not sure if it's the brew or the time. Lol

Had the procedure around noon. They told me to go home and rest for 4 hours and the pain should mostly be done. Then said in rare occasions the burn can last up to 12. I'm sure I'll be the worst case.

Thought I could take some pain.

Ill be able to pick winners easier right??????

i had it done about 10 yrs ago in the states, so i dunno if the procedure has changed, but it was definitely weird having to stare into the blue light, and then going completely blind for a few seconds while they did the procedure. they gave me a valium beforehand and one to take after as well. took like 2 days to recover, wearing those dorky black sunglasses

Had PRK done a couple of years ago. Use the drops like you're a junkie, they really help. Perfect vision now, though it took a few weeks to really get there. Once again, use the drops.

Me and the mrs both had lasik about 10 years ago. Only downside is my eyes seem to be more sensitive to lights at night (starburst effect) and have eye fatigue late at night, especially playing poker all night. That might just be part of being 40 yrs old instead of 20.
