#6welcome back Blondie!!!!!
I hope you apply online and get the job Leah
I remember when I was 15 or 16 I got my first tax paying job. Mcdonald's at 4.25 an hr
for break food you could get any sandwich, a drink, fries, and a desert for free. I'd get a double quarterpounder with extra cheese, the fries, the drink, and a cinnamon roll with extra frosting every break. I doubt I eat that many calories per day total now.Comment -

#12It's a fast-paced work environment. Working at Mcd's as a teen looks good on a future resume.
There's also a good chance for advancement. I went to school with a guy who was uhm...slow. He was flipping burgers at McDonalds. A few years later he was the manager. Go figure...Comment -

I agree. I have tons of respect for people that can get up every day and go work in fast food. It does look good on a resume later in life that a person had that type of character and work ethic at an early age.
When I see an older person working there I have even more respect for them. It shows me they do not want to go on welfare, and or they will do anything to take care of themselves and their families.Comment -

Costco's average pay is $17 an hour, 42 percent higher than its fiercest rival, Sam's Club.Comment -

#23Thats a decent avg actually. When i wrked at target in 06 i had a couple friends get jobs at costco. They were happy to be making $10 a hour. Guess wages have gone up significantly or they have a union type year range progression raise( like $2 per year).Originally posted by InTheDrinkyou might want to let it go gueyeComment -

Where do you live? No one is asking you to take the other customers to dinner and a movie, just buy your stuff, save some money and get out of there.
I live in socal and am single with no kids so I rarely shop at walmart. We dont have one in my area anyway, however there prices are really great no one can deny that. If one was down the road I would shop there.
costco average of 17 an hour ? wow thats awesome. I am glad I am a memberComment -

no its really just about corporate greed vs. company generosity....this quote sums up everything that's wrong with the modern world (and by the way this is from 2005)
oh so you mean the people actually making this shit happen shouldnt benefit from the success at all?Costco's average pay, for example, is $17 an hour, 42 percent higher than its fiercest rival, Sam's Club. And Costco's health plan makes those at many other retailers look Scroogish. One analyst, Bill Dreher of Deutsche Bank, complained last year that at Costco "it's better to be an employee or a customer than a shareholder."
