Not selling drugs or pimping myself. Thought about doing car detailing on the side, but after doing research the profit margin wasn't really there. Keep it comin with ideas.

Large start up costs if you are going to make it worthwhile. They do have the largest profit margins of almost any business, but harder to do successfully than you think.

hmm Do you have any start up money $500 -$1500? you can take out a small business loan and start a store but heres some ideas
1.Ebay you can get stuff and garage sales,Salvation Army, and make a couple 100$ a month easy
2.Carpet Cleaning machine can be bought and the profit margin can be very very nice you could make a nice living off that
3.Now for about 2k down and with a loan you can open a tannning salon for about 20 30k
4.If you have any mechanic skills you can buy and resell cars and also do that on ebay

In reality 5k is a low-start up cost, but what are YOU referring to by low? Running them as a side job will not be profitable, a family friend of ours does it. And while the family is very well off financially, he worked his ass off for the first 15-20 years, and it takes a bit of time to make profit, but once you break even it is almost pure profit.

if you want a business with little or no start-up costs, it will almost certainly have to be providing some sort of service for people.

                              courier
                              handyman
                              painter

if you don't have any assets, then you won't really need insurance or bonding since there's nothing to protect in case of a lawsuit

Think of something marketable to old people. I feel like retirement homes and old people communities is where im gonna make my $$$. They old and have money with nothing to live for. Just gotta figure out something they can use.

Ever seen South Park? You can sell anything, just convince them it will make a good gift. If you are serious about this check into vector marketing. Some of my friends made thousands selling knives for them. It's all commission based so you get what you put in.

True to an extent, they cannot buy a car or house, but they still are among the easiest to separate $20 from for a worthless backscratcher or some other piece of crap, as morally reprehensible as it is.

Is this a new full-time thing, or what? How many hours a week do you plan on putting in? Running any sort of business will require more time for less profit, unless you do it full time (60+ hours a week for a small business owner)

I think you are looking for a golden ticket that doesn't exist anymore. You either need to improve on an idea or do something and undercut competition.

70 hours a week plus school, that's going to be rough. But at 30 hours a week, carpet cleaning (hard to get initial clientele), electronics repair shop, buy/sell stuff on ebay, you could make tons at vector though seriously, you work on your own time, and everyone I know who took it seriously was quite happy with the results.
