Liberal democrats will ALWAYS flock to the richer states as only the richer states can afford socialism (i.e. tons of free government handouts, etc).

If Silicon Valley decided to pack up and leave California (which they will do eventually) and move to Alabama then all the liberal democrats would eventually re-locate to where the money is and Alabama would become a dark blue state within a decade.

It takes a special kind of liberal idiot like CallmeChip to claim that liberals don't support a bigger and more powerful government.

The richer the state, the more socialist it will be run which is why richer states almost always vote democratic. Remember that each and every deadbeat liberal democrat welfare collector has the exact same voting power as a Bill Gates.

If you were a lazy, good for nothing liberal democrat, where would you choose to live - Alabama(where welfare and unemployment pay the least) or California (where they hand out taxpayer money like its cotton candy)?

Liberal democrats have destroyed our great nation and we are well past the point of no return. Mitt Romney's 47% remark was wrong only because it was inaccurate as the true percentage of government dependent Americans is now over 60%.

The number of liberal democratic leeches will only grow as our country's demographics worsen with the number of producers shrinking and our country's debt is going to grow exponentially faster and faster with each passing year.

Its not a matter of "if", but "when" the U.S. self-destructs. Because the entire world is so heavily invested in the U.S., it gives liberal democrats like President Obama, Pelosi and Reid all the more rope and it won't be just the U.S. that goes but the entire planet.

Liberal democrats have caused FAR MORE DAMAGE than any terrorist group ever could.

Sadly this argument does not work with me. Many have tried. I absolutely would not mind one bit to pay more in taxes to help the economy, although I don't make 7 figures a year, so I wouldn't really be paying much more than I do now. That rule applies more so to the super wealthy. I would have no problem taxing my income and capital gains a bit higher than they are now. 30%? Sure. I can still live comfortably. I only said I was better than Centaur, no one else. I fukkin' loathe the misconception that every person on the planet receiving govt aide is "a lazy minority who never wants to work" as per your conservative estimate comment. I grew up middle class and did well for myself and I know for a fact life is very hard for others who didn't have my opportunities and they need help. I don't consider that charity, I consider it helping them. I am most definitely better than people who constantly blame the impoverished for being lazy and pathetic, and being so ignorant as to write them off as wastes of space.

Yes, I make good money. Yes, I think those less fortunate need help and don't consider them just "lazy". Yes, I don't mind paying higher taxes.

Impossible to be 2 countries. Say it's small gov red, big gov blue. states on the West and East wouldn't stay together separated by all the red in the middle, and all the red probably wouldn't stay together. Yeah, and the richest people in America are in blue states on the coast.

What's more likely is states join with neighboring states as their own countries. Other factors like racially if latinos take over Southwest. Lots of scenarios that are not smooth or peaceful.

Good on ya Chip if you don't mind paying more in taxes to support what you believe in; you and folks who believe as you do are more than welcome to give the government more money if you believe they know best. I also believe in helping people and charity, but I don't think I (or the government) have any right to forcibly take other people's money and spend it against their wishes just because they have more of it and can 'afford it' per our opinion.

It's ridiculous to generalize all people receving government aide as lazy, worthless etc., but it's also ridiculous to assume that these programs are a god-given right that requires everyone to pay for, or that it doesn't create a conflict of interest when people dependent on these programs are compelled to vote for whichever shady politician says they're going to somehow keep the unsustainable benefits coming. If we truly believe in helping the needy, we as citizens will do it on our own...instead, it seems we only vote for increases to these programs when someone else (usually the rich) is paying for them. Let private charities handle the social nets and stop taking people's money away for the government to do it less efficiently, and get rid of the concept that anyone should be able to vote themselves the right to other people's property.

Couple things Chip old boy:
-If you use quotations around something it should be what someone said, not what you inferred from it. Avoids some pretty messy misunderstandings you may encounter later on from doing that.

-If you make less than 7 figures like you said then you don't make more than me and my family. I personally do not make 7 figures but the number can easily be met with only a few of us. You're the smartest guy you know though so I'm trying to figure out how this isn't possible.

-You say you're better than me? How, by how much money ur so proud of making? I guess ur much much better than the people who are receiving all this aid too.

-Everyone with any sense knows statistically or intuitively blacks receive a higher percentage of federal aid than whites per capita. Do they all? Of course not. Are their poor white people too? Of course. But any conservative or Red state with a black percentage around double of the national average will therefore have a higher amount of federal aid to that state. 2+2=4 You thought that a red state receiving high amount of federal aid must mean those who made it a red state are the same ones who receive the aid. It was an erroneous argument so either concede or never be wrong, whatever makes you feel better. People see through and have grown quite weary though of liberals pulling out the race card whenever damning evidence along race lines are discussed.

-The whole attitude of feeling fine about paying more to the less fortunate because they need our help sounds noble. The problem is many people know these poor unfortunate folks, we know where the money goes and how its used, and we see it perpetuates the poverty and misfortune, encouraging the same behavior to continue to collect. It doesn't lift them up it keeps them down IMO
