I truly can not imagine leaving our dog behind. Granted right now he is out in his pen since he is in trouble, but he is still part of the fmaily. Can't imagine doing that to him or to our family... Losing stuff is hard enough but to lose a pet can be like losing a family member.

Not saying riding in a vehicle or being in a shelter with a giant St bernard would be fun either but that's the choice we made when we began dog owners...

Horses and animals of that size might be a bit different, but for goodness sakes at least let them loose and give them a chance if you absolutely can not take them with you same with cattle etc. If you KNOW it is going to hit your area, give them a fighting chance...
