It's October!!!! My favorite time of the year has officially started! Hayrides, cookouts, birthdays (all girls in our house were born in Oct...), football, Halloween, upcoming hopes for Thanksgiving and Christmas, basketball, cool crisp mornings on the soccer field, leaves changing, I could go on and on... !!
I must admit though, I had a true "parent moment" yesterday at the reception for the boys and their state win... I looked at these boys especially my own son, and realized just how much they all are growing up and I teared up...
I am the mother of a 13 year old 8th grader who is taller than I am, whose voice has changed, who is talking about wanting to go to Harvard, and who worked together with his friends to win the IESA State Championship, but I am not sure when in the hell that happened exactly surely it didn't all happen overnight because that is how it feels one day they were crying in their crib and we were wondering if we would ever sleep again to now where we are wondering if it will ever slow down around here so we can actually all have a night together...
Those of you that have kids will either understand exactly what I mean or will someday understand. There are those moments when you look at them and all of the sudden you realize how much they have grown up, yeah you see it everyday, but the closer you are to something the less the changes stand out.
But there are these moments where you look at them and you just stop and kind of stare because it catches you off guard...
Anyhow, back to the here and now.... Chicago/Dallas who you on? What other plays do you have today?
