I still don't understand the limit on # of players. Just adjust payouts accordingly to however many people show up, what's the big deal?

agreed..more players, bigger prizepool, more players paid based on # of entrants(sliding payout scale)..not sure I see a downside here?

I believe SBR_John stated it has to do with keeping the tourney time down to about 2hrs.

I dont agree with it, but it seems like a lot of people want to have shorter turbo-like tourneys.

If 55 enter, the fees will be more than the prize pool.

It's quicker and better. Simple. Why complain? You have a week to sign up, and it's not like they fill up quick.

Thanks Sbr for continuing this. I'll pass on this one, but is this now a common tourney?

Good luck to all that enter.

The last one was 2:10 with 50 players. This one will probably end up in the 2:15 to 2:30 range.

We added more chips and slowed the blind increases for these tournaments so they go a little slow. If we limited it to a number and it filled in a half a day we would reconsider the format. But last week you could have joined the morning of the tournament as well as all week. This week we added 5 more seats. So its a work in progress to keep it fun and balanced between length of tourney, starting stack and blinds.

Good chance I'll be taking a shot for every caution in the Daytona 500.
Will prob be hammered by time tourney starts.
                                  I should be easy money.

You didn't include all of the fees.

It's 12,200 with the pool being 12,000. Basically the same, so no big deal. Just no overlay.

                                          Yisman,

The fees wouldnt count towards the overlay anyway. Only money in the actual pool would count towards that. So this tournament is still an overlay in my book

                                              Doesn't matter.

When I calculate it, it's entry fees compared to the prize pool. I simply am seeing whether the entry fees exceed the prize pool or not. In this case, they would. That's all.

Yep, You're right on the money yis! There's no fuk overlay when you're collecting 12,200 in points and paying out 12,000!

And hey, Let's not forget that a guy who's an sbr administrator with over 29 thousand plus in points, also took out 2nd place last week for an additional 2,500 points that are unusable to him and damn near got 1st place! So these points, which for all good reason should go to "regular" sbr pros, go right back in the sbr bank. Fuk that!

Great idea, these high roller tourneys to recoup some of matt's 56K he won in the casino I guess! Fuk'in variance, what a joke of a term here! My first hand I'm hold'in QQ all in against a pair of 99's, flop comes Q, 10, 9, no problem right, I'm still hold'in better trips, turn is a 2, and the river? Yeah, that great fuk'in variance and his only out shows up, 9. I could really give a fuk about playing here anymore, certain people come out ahead here all the time, and others never do. Not even worth the all the time that I've put into it. Variance....on a computer program? Call it what the fuk it really is, pre-programed variance!

The same shit that happens at 5dimes poker, bodog, or bookmaker, is the same shit that goes on here! No difference, just a different name.

Yeah real funny dude. You're the pot calling the kettle black! Everyone knows you've been coming on the chat boards at final tables and starting shit and harassing other players. You do it every night and your buddy frizz is right along with you. So stfu and get a clue yourself jerk! You're the douche bag who needs to step off! Stop fuk'in with people like tt and myself, and I'll have no reason to say shit to you! It's not like I give a rat's ass to say anything to a prick like you anyway. And dude, I don't live here like you do, I log on, check scores, make some picks, and play poker. So shut your fuk'in big mouth to me and we won't have a problem.

Well this thread seems to have turned into losers arguing with each other about nothing, but I like the limited number of entrants. It's nice that the elevation of the blinds is slowed down slightly so it doesn't turn into everyone going all-in so quickly, and I agree with Gambler and Rudy that most people don't want to sit around all day playing for points. 2-3 hours is a good amount of time for these tourneys.

I will enter today if we are not capped out - want to give everyone a chance first.

I've entered because I've been up all night and have nothing else to do whilst waiting for the little dude to wake up. If anyone has a problem with me being in or if I've taken someone else's place, please let me know... also scoping out a beauty blog so no harm done.

Oh and mikejamm: You said the nastiness was gone when you returned. Lou, myself, Reload, nor any other staff member is here to shaft you or anyone else. Many people have played with me at the tables. Some will say I get great cards once in awhile, others are salivating for me to come back. Same as anyone else. We're entering just like the rest of you but again: I appreciate that this is a limited tourney so if someone else wants/needs my place, just PM me and let me know. GL everyone
