SBR Poker League Challenge (Cash sit'n'go and weekly standings)
SBR weekly poker league (sit’n’go tournament)

Every Thursday night at 8 pm ET, there will be a sit’n’go tournament using the poker software affiliated with 5dimes and other sportbooks (best option for SBRers). The poker league will run the course of the NFL season, though the first sit’n’go tournament will be this Thursday. This is a regular formatted sit’n’go, single-table tournament with a $20 buy-in. Besides the standard cash prizes, points will be awarded to the players that cash and will determine the season’s rankings.

Points will be awarded to first, second, and third place.
1st place will be awarded 10pts
2nd place will be awarded 7pts
3rd place will be awarded 5 pts

Depending on how many SBRers want to get involved in this, there may be multiple single-table sit’n’go tables running simultaneously. I don’t want to do multi-tables because it may take too long and many of us have to work early hours.

More details will be ironed out as questions arise and this will be private tournament by invite only…so we’ll need to figure out how to contact each other with the pass, tourney ID and whatnot.

If you are interested in participating in this week’s tournament, please indicate so and feel free to ask any questions that you might have. Also, if someone really likes the idea of this, I might need someone else to help run this, keep track of pts, etc. Thanks. -HE

You just need a 5dimes, bookmaker account (can someone verify this), etc. and then download the software. I just do a sportbook transfer to the poker site...pretty simple. I think the buy-in is $20+ $1.4...or something close

I think people are a little mistaken, as I am not a middleman, but am only organizing the weekly tournament, keeping records of who cashes, etc. Everyone who wants to participate will need to have a 5dimes, bookmaker, or sportbook account that is affiliated with the poker software that these books use. I will simply start a private sit'n'go tournament every Thursday night at 8 pm et...or whatever works for the majority of players. Speaking only from my personal experience with 5dimes, there is no cost to transfer funds between the sportsbook and poker site, which bears the names of 5dimes, though it is not just 5dimes' site. All players would need to have to have the buy-in to participate. Really hoping this kicks off because it would be fun to do on a weekly basis...again, if someone likes this sort of thing, I could probably use another person to help me run/organize/update this.

Still not giving up on this....first tournament is tomorrow evening @8 pm ET. It is a traditional regular 9-player sit'n'go, $20 plus $1 and some change. It will be hosted on 5dimes poker, which uses the same poker software affiliated with other books, such as bookmaker. In addition to cash payouts for places 1-3, pts will be awarded to the top the three finishers. Let's do this!...will be fun!

How much is the league entry, who's holding it and what's the breakdown for the points?

League entry is free, it's hosted on 5dimes' poker software, which is the same one that bookmaker uses, and points are not SBR points, they are league points awarded for first, second, and third place. The only cost is the actual sit'n'go cost, which is $20 plus the tourney fee that goes to the house..

I'm stumped how you've set this up, what's the point of a league with no prize?

I participated in one for three years. Each year, the tourney fee went towards sending the league winner to the WSOP....not the main event, but one of the smaller nl tournaments. Ideally, I would structure this league in the same manner, in which the league winner would receive a prize. However, I don't see how I can give a prize a prize to the league winner, without having to pay out of pocket for it. Maybe, a trustworthy SBR pro would be willing to hold onto a NFL season's worth of points and give it to the top three at the end of the year? I'd be willing to trust someone worthy of it. Do you have any ideas?
