The kid used his own name with a faulty birthday, but said his father was playing on his account in the tournament. Either way it doesn't matter though. If the kid was playing he's broken the rules and if the father was playing he was also breaking the rules by playing on an account that wasn't his.

#37Yes, pokerstars are the thieves here and not the guy that broke their rules and tried to steal from them. Pokerstars will not be keeping this money since 500k is a meaningless amount to them. They could easily keep the money if they wanted to, but it will be divided amongst the other tournament players.Comment -

#40People need to be held accountable for there actions. This kid shouldn't receive this life changing money because he broke rules to get it. He agreed to these rules when he made his account.Comment -

#50They will probably end up redistributing the money in some way, because if they let him keep it they are creating a huge precedent.Comment -

#58if the father claims he was playing and they cannot prove otherwise definitively, they have to pay out.
Their own T&Cs state:
10.2. The User agrees that he/she is solely responsible for all use of the Service under his/her Login Credentials ...
10.3. ... Any unauthorized use of the Login Credentials shall be the sole responsibility of the User and be deemed as his/her use.
This is likely why they have not confiscated or 'officially decided' anything as of yet ...Comment -

#63Ya i'm curious how stars will play this. That is a lot of money to redistribute. He obv was underage but can stars prove he wasn't the one playing. That being said I don't know if the account was under his dads name or his. If it WAS under his name then obv he was underage and probably screwed.
It's a clear violation of the TOS's and while I feel for the kid, this would open up the gates of underage players thinking they can get away with it, on top of killing the argument to legalize poker because the republicans would jump all over stuff like this.Comment -

#66he aint getting shit and he shouldnt for the simple fact he was bragging about the tourny as he was playing it and he actually wanted 650k at first and he was a joke even tho he got lucky that sunday . You know what i thot was hilarious the low guy at the table with chips was battmiester and he was so happy that they were gonna take that deal because actually the first guy out would of only got 40 k but he locked up 264k with that deal, good for him , thats why he prolly felt like strangling that kid that was not agreeing with them all .Comment -
