I was invited to a home game...
I was invited to a mutual friends home cash game last night. This was my first invite. Blinds were .50 cent/ $1. People were buying in and rebuying at 60 a pop.
10 people at the table, average pots were in the range of 40 to 60 bucks if it made it to showdown.

Only 2 of the regs had a clue. My question is... do you play soft so you can be invited back or take advantage while you are there of the weak play?

I played tight aggressive and I gave a little back towards the end, but I woke up this morning thinking that i was still a little greedy.
( up $250 on a $60 buy in) The game is 3 miles from my house and super convenient.
Any thoughts what would have been the right thing to do? lol
I know the goal is to win money of course ,but I have a nagging feeling that I should have played rope a dope and broke even a few nights first.

Always play your best. Variance will come along and "give a little back" eventually...trust me.

I guy called my pot sizewd bet with only ace high on a flush and straight board.(which I had the nut flush )

This is the classic table where they think a pair of aces gets played to showdown.

I cant help but to feel a little bad though. Maybe I should surprise their next game with an order of pizzas or something. That way with me not being there I want come across as a complete jerk, and it might get me another invite.

As soon as you think you have them all figured out, your hands do not hold and they hit their hands.

I have a hard time playing cash games with friends. I'd much rather play a couple of $20 tournaments rather than stack a friend for $200.

Never play limits where you can hurt a friend, that is obv. Otherwise, it is fun to OWN your friends. Unless you are significantly better, it will even out. and there are usually a few casual "friends" that are fishes for you both to chop up....

Just my opinion. I have the most fun when I am playing against friends and few fishes...

This. If they are anything like the friends I play with - it's because "your the luckiest player". LOL yep, lucky nearly every time we play.

Just dont be a dick and youll be invited back. Fishy players have short memories for how much other people have won.

I appreciate the advice. They were saying that I was lucky the other night. Funny you should mention that! They played every hand and I only played about 18% of my hands and Im lucky. lol

Take the money for sure, but don't be too noticeable that you are folding or they may pick up on what is making you successful......I have WAY to big of a mouth and I would stupidly instruct these guys on how bad they play...if they were "friends"...but at the casino (where I play 98% of the time) I don't give any help and attack fishes all day long...
