    Poker software
Anyone use or can recommend a good poker software that shows other peoples live stats and tendencies. I have seen a few but was wondering if any are better. Thanks.

ok...i was going to post this thread myself, so thanks for doing it.
I've heard mixed things about a software program called PokerTracker.
i'm not sure its worth the money, but then again, it it wins one big pot i guess it pays for itself.

Really what i would like advice in is whether its a good idea for a semi beginning texas holdem player to DEPEND ON A HAND TRACKING program.

Any advice from experienced players would be appreciated.
    thanks

I feel like statistics couldn't hurt no matter how long you have been playing.

Poker Tracker or Hold em Manager. They're worth the money and will only help you improve your game. You can pay less for the small stakes version. Download Poker Stove as well for hand reviews.

As far as depending on it, of course you shouldn't. It's a supplement that will help you keep track of your hands and results, which helps you become a better player. If you play on a site like bodog, you have to have one to track your hands because the hand histories are so God awful. It does help you track player tendencies but you are still going to have to learn what to do in a certain situation for it to pay off in the long run.

100% agreed with Dane. I helps with understanding what you and your opponents tendencies but you still have to decide correctly what to do in each situation.

This, plus taking a look at your opponents history at pokertableratings.com for players that are new to you.

Yeah I love pokertablerating.com. Great site. I have just watched some videos on online poker and it seems that they are all running some kind of software.

I have used holdem manager and now it is tough to play without it. It makes it very easy to multitable and find the donks without having to pay attention. You can look at their stats and how many hands played to quickly know if they are a donky which is good when you are multitabling.
