    WSOP final table
Just watched it on TV. Watching how all those pros were playing left me with a very bad impression. What I saw was them making one bad decision after another and being eliminated afterward. I am not following poker that close but can somebody who does clue me in if this year's final table look especially bad to you too and if it was could it be due to bad (good?) choices by the TV team or something else?

They always seem to show the hands that would generate the most excitement. Still gotta shake your head at some of the plays/calls though.

You can't judge how the players are playing because you are able to see all the holecards and they can't.

Sometimes you make a move and it's in a bad spot.... It happens.

blinds were so high that the short stacks had to shove with most hands even if they didn't look like the best cards

Three players left, two roughly equal big stack and one small stack. After series of re-raisings two big stacks go all-in preflop, QQ vs. A8s. Seems to me both were wrong, none of these two hands deserved to be played like this.

Agreed, for 4-8 million at stake, why risk it with at risk hands. Both can easily be dominated.

There are just too many factors to consider here like the meta/table dynamics/fatigue etc it's unfair to judge based on the few select hands that made it to the 2hour TV special IMO

Agreed. Though there is a huge disparity in the pay scale between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I watched the entire ESPN coverage of the main event (downloaded it online).

Each player reads a situation differently. Some players decisions are based on their book on an opponent. Down to 3 handed play, they had been playing at the same table for a a number of days, in some cases. It all depends on the blind levels and the stacks in relation to the blinds.

However, Duhammel admitted he liked to take chances. Sometimes you get lucky.

They had probably already made a deal of some kind in advance, so the playing was probably skewed somewhat, if everybody pretty much already knew how much they were going to make.
