The bad beat I walk away from
I was just on FlushTilt last night playing low stakes Rush poker. I flopped a fullboat with a 9 of spades on the board. I made a value bet with one caller.
The turn shows a 6 of spades and I made another value bet and he calls. The river came with a 8 of spades. Now, an inexperienced player would probably push allin thinking he has the better hand even with the flush draw there. I have been playing on this shit site long enough to know they set you up with the nuts only to bring you down with the nut cracker. the guy just checks trying to trap me into a check-raise and I just check back. Sure enough he shows the 10 and 7 spades for a strt. Flush.
Beware of these types of hands when your playing online. Know when to walk away. These plays will save your bank roll more if you do.

checking is horrible here. you lose so much money in the long run. you can get paid off by trips/straights/flushes. doesn't matter if you were right this time.

      4% chance of him holding 10s 7s.

you had at least a 90% chance of winning this hand as Kaabee said you should have raised here you would win in this scenario 9 out of 10 times. I would also call any raise unless I was getting less than 1/9 odds.

              He checked back, not folded.

I started folding Kings preflop, now my roi went thru the roof.

This is a brutal play on your term. So you lose 1 hand out of 500 like this.
Long run, its +EV to make a bet there.
If you are so experiences, you will make the proper lay down if you are put all in and feel something is up.
But to just check there makes no sense.

This hand was played absolutely horrible. He shows this hand a very very very small % of the time. This is the worst check back in the history of online poker.

i still think people who try to play seriously online is an action junkie..

I used to play for fun online in college..

but i still have to many questions about fairness..

I rather just walk into any indian casino in this country and grind it out.. or play with friends..

plus if you were playing in a real casino.. you would have made $$$$$$ here.. if you had jacks or better boat..

happened to me once about 4 years ago.. flipped over aces over kings.. dude had 4 kings.. I got 53k .. he got 31.. everyone at the table got like 2500 ..

I don't see the reason so many of you are saying it was a bad move to check if I had a feeling this guy caught his miracle cards. The point was that I got out of dropping more cash into this guys pocket by checking.

They are just saying, in the long run, you should value-bet if you thought he had a flush, but you went with your read which is right, he had the nuts. Some hands you can't get away from, but you gotta know you made the correct play and you did. He hit a miracle card.

I made a correct read on this one guy in Atlantic city. I put him on AK/AQ. (He had AQ.) He raised to 15. I re-raised him to $45, I had pocket rockets. The guy then reraises me again. I wait and go all-in. He sits there a minute and knows I have AA since I've been playing Tight-Agressive. He even said, "I know you have AA." He calls and rivers a straight on me. I had to walk away cause the end result would've been either way. Some hands you can't win, but they are outliers.

I have played thousands and thousands of hands online and understand what the poster is saying.

I am always careful when a straight flush possibility is on board.

Have seen a few when playing live , but every night I see straight flushes and quads.

your opponent will play the same way he did with hands other than straight flush. nobody can "read" the exact two cards. don't take a results oriented approach with poker. play the hand the correct way. are you going to fold a full house every time in this situation? i hope not.

gotta bet there. if you have good bankroll management then you lose the hand but your not wiped out. but that is a freak hand and you cant check that.

I was on FabulousTilt site yesterday, had 10s, 7s. Flop brings 9s. I know this is the greatest site on earth and I'm gonna get a huge hand, so I stayed in this pot calling all of the other sucker's "value bets". Sure enough because FabulousTilt poker is always so great to me I caught the 8s and then 6s. I love FabulousTilt poker, you guys should all play there!

I think I've played you before. Do you use the same screen name?
