    Depositing in Bodog
    Hi guys,

Planning to start playing poker on Bodog. For those that have played there recently, what is the best deposit method that allows for instant deposit and relatively cheap or free to deposit?

What about considering cost of withdrawing?

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Credit card is very easy, but they hit you with a 3% transaction fee.

Not sure how big of a deposit you are making but they will pick up the fees for a money transfer beyond a certain point ($300 I think)...

I like their new method mpl. Free deposits and Payouts to there. Although mpl fees are high to fund it with cc and instant deposit. However you can also fund your mpl with ** and ** and that is free.

Whatever you do, be very careful using bank transfer/bank wire.

Bodog has "lost" my last bank transfer deposit made on 19th October and is proving to be particularly unhelpful in locating the funds.

I used the same method twice before without incident, but only for small amounts and to "test" the process, using Bodog's two different receiving banks in the UK. As soon as I sent a larger deposit, it went missing! It's been going on for two weeks now and all I get from Bodog are patronising emails asking for more detail, which I've willingly provided but still no result.

My bank has confirmed to me that all the detail I used for the transaction was correct as supplied by Bodog, no mistakes were made in transmission and that the funds have been sent to Bodog's bank.

The Bodog staff I've been dealing with have been most unhelpful and what's worse they don't appear to understand how to solve the problem.

I've had enough and regardless of how this is resolved, I'll be closing my Bodog account. The customer service I've endured is well below the standard I've experienced with its competitors. It's a complete waste of time dealing with companies who don't have decent back up and support to handle this type of situation.

Never encountered this sort of problem before.

Be very careful how you go about transferring money to Bodog because if it's "lost" it like has happened to my money, you'll waste a lot of time trying to get the matter resolved.

Bodog doesn't charge for CC, but your CC company can charge you a fee. It's best to check with your CC company before depositing if you're worried about getting charged since most CC will charge you some type of small fee.

My credit card company chaged me the 3% fee once. I complained to Bodog and they actually covered the fee, although I don't think they would want me advertising that. Since then, all transactions have gone through as purchases rather than cash advances, and I actually get 1% back from my credit card company (Chase). Bodog also recently introduced DBT (direct bank transfer), which is rather nice. No Bodog fees on either option, and they'll usually process a withdrawal for me before the charge even posts to my bank account or credit card. Early on, Bodog used to make me fax in a photocopy of my credit card and driver's license along with their authorization form for any credit card I had used to make a deposit before they would process any withdrawals. I believe they now have a similar form for DBT transactions as well. However, I guess they have so much documentation on file from me (I have a tendency to leave my credit cards at bars) that they no longer ask me for this anymore. One caveat is that Bodog will only process one free withdrawal per calendar month; anything over that and they'll charge you $50.00. You may be able to get around that by trying different withdrawal methods (e.g., one DBT withdrawal and one cashier's check withdrawal) but I haven't tried that yet.

Thanks to Becky's intervention, my funds have now been "found". Amazing!

Becky, you're support and assistance in sorting out this matter is greatly apprecited.

The Bodog customer service I experienced on this matter prior to your involvement was unacceptable. I don't believe I was ever dealt with seriously nor was I treated fairly, right up until you intervened.

I never felt my claim was believed, notwithstanding the overwhelming weight of evidence supplied to the contrary.

It's my view that the Bodog staff were either incapable or too lazy to deal with the matter properly.

Anyway, it's finally resolved after many hours of wasted time.

The only positive I can see in all of this is your role and involvement as the Bodog "ambassador". Well done and thanks again.

Be sure that you deposit and use the bulk of you money through the Poker portion if you want the bonus/promotions they offer. They are currently offering 110% Bonus on your first deposit and there are tiered bonuses from that point on (ie: 100 Poker Points = $10 bonus) I use their sportsbook and poker, so i deposit my money on the main deposit page. Most of my action does go through the Sportsbook but I have put in a decent amount of time playing poker with different levels of buy-in's etc. I just reached my 100 point plateau last night but I guess since, as I was told, my "action is mostly with the sportsbook" I was not eligible for the bonus. Not a big deal (just a $10 bonus), and I am new, but something to be aware of.

If not for Bodog Becky I'm sure I'd still be wasting time trying to sort out my issue and probably getting nowhere. The apology and accompanying self righteous excuses for the poor treatment I received only serves to confirm the dreadful customer service Bodog provides.
