Give me a break. How's a priest supposed to lure unsuspecting little children into his van without offering a bribe. It takes money to offer bribes, and the rake of church bingo games doesn't bring in very much cash.

He said if he won he was going to rebuild/renovate his church. I just thought it was odd and it may have been fake...It appeared as if he didn't have God on his side cause he didn't win!!

Seems odd that a priest would enter a televised poker game. On the other hand priests are trying everything these days to get people back on the hook.

I thought it was a little off putting but then I started to think about Bingo being played in church basements and Atlantic City trips sponsored and departing from churches as well.
So I guess it's "normal".

Old religion I was in = gambling is wrong, encourages greed and disregard for fellow man's plight, etc., and you would be disciplined if caught

Religion I am in now = gamble if you want to, but you can't be addicted to it, nor are you to ever cheat
