Where is the best placeto go to track my wins/losses?
I have been meaning to do this for awhile and just haven't gotten around to it, but it needs to be done.

Any thoughts or direction would be greatly appreciated!

Ideally you want to get Pokertracker or Hold'em manager.

last i checked pokertracker gave you 60 days free and holdem manager was around 10 days i think. im not exactly sure now because that was so long ago, but try them both out and see what you like. seems like holdem manager just keeps adding new stuff after stuff (which is what i have). so now sure about PT.

I use pokertracker and they give you 60 days for a trial. There are some things on the real version you can't do on the trial, but if you just want to track things, it's useful. The two sites above are good. Pokertableratings is the best that I know of for cash games. Officialpokerrankings.com was a good site for tracking at one time, but I think some sites dropped the hammer on them and it doesn't track tournaments like it once did.

Why don't u get a small log book and track your poker performance like that. I don't play online though. But it's a local cash game. I track time in and out, players on table, money in and out, and small and big blind.

In addition to bankroll fluctuations the tracking programs record statistics that aid in determining the right course of action when considering a decision. It's impossible to calculate $/100 without the use of tracking tools when you're multi-tabling and there are many other statistics that help when improving one's game or gaining an edge against opponents.

The difference between pokertacker and hold'em manager really comes down to personal preference. I prefer pokertracker because I've used it longer and am familiar with the interface/functions. I'm sure I could get used to HEM but I don't see any compelling reason to.

The 60 day trial of pokertracker is also a great offer for any beginner. It's possible to clear the purchase price of the micro version or even the full by playing nanostakes within the 60 day period.

My preference would be to ban the tracking websites altogether. They serve absolutely no positive purpose. It can be argued that they aid against collusion/cheating but many incidents were discovered without the aid of these websites and will continue to be discovered as such. Right now all they are doing is scaring away the deluded and serve as fodder for those who mock people who lose money.

PokerTracker is a wise investment. If your looking to track yourself or others on the cheap on the cheap and don't need it to be 100% accurate (its close enough though) then it depends on what you play.

                        For Cash Games:

For Single Table up to 45 man SNGs (and 180s on Stars I think):
Track your poker statistics and avoid the sharks. SharkScope is the most complete database of poker tournament results available and covers virtually all online poker sites.

                        For Multi-Table Tournaments:

im surprised so many pick pokertracker over holdemmanager

(although i did have PT back in the day)

but i also had tourneymanager which was separate of holdemmanager at the time.
