Dude, that's nothing. In a 2/5 game at Wynn I lost an almost 1.5K pot that I had already won. A dealer error caused the original river card to be shuffled back into the deck after all but $25 of my opponent's stack had been bet, and on the new river card my opponent hit a 9 outer.

To each of your questions "do you deposit often?" "do you run your bankroll up to 6x in one session of SNG's?" and "do you then try to parlay that putting 1/4 or more of your roll on the table in cashgames" the answers are NO, NO!, and ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Bankroll management: google it. What you're doing is like running through a minefield, then getting upset when you take that one unlucky step.
Walter forgot... when you're desperate's when you got no choice.

Assuming your roll is $700 and you buy in for 100 BB

            100 NL = 7 BI's
            200 NL = 3.5 BI's

The standard rule is at least 20 BI's. It is debatable because your bankroll should really be based on your winrate but generally as you increase in stakes you need more of a bankroll because your edge thins.

That being said losing 7 buy ins or 3.5 buy ins is really nothing. I'm on a 7 buy in downswing atm (insert bad beat stories here) and there are many proven winning players that have had 20 BI+ downswings. The variance is huge in poker.

With $700 you really should be playing 25NL ( $0.10/$0.25 blinds) which would give you 28 BI's and move up to 50NL when you reach $1000.

Of course all this is assuming you're a winning player. If you are a losing player no amount of BR can help you as it's is 100% certain that you will go broke. Think of playing slots in a casino and it is essentially the same thing. If this is the case just think of it as a budget instead of a bankroll that you use to learn the game. 2+2, reading and playing will get you on your way. Good luck.

Why what's wrong with 2+2 now? I'd assume that the strategy discussion has moved away from them into the various training sites but you still find some gems in there.

2+2 has become the "players talk" subforum of poker in general imo

it seems you have somehow managed to upset the poker gods. build an altar and sacrifice a small animal then go all-in with 7-2 offsuit.

after that- everything should be good.

If you play daily, you should use cheat software, like poker edge, and a few other I don't remember the name of. 2+2 forum should have a list of them.
