    Bodog: $500 Freeroll w/rebuys
Twice daily Bodog features a $500 freeroll with rebuys and addons. You've got a slim chance of even 'getting in the money', but first place pays somthing like $120. The trick is to maintain yourself and wait for the right time to rebuy, if it even becomes necessary. You want to wait and just try to build your stack. If your stack remains below 1500 and above 800 and you notice more players than not with a stack of 2700 or more it's a good time to rebuy 1500 chips for $1+0. Any sooner would be pointless as you want to try to build your stack for FREE. If you were to rebuy right off, and no one else does, the most you could win from any one person would still only be around 1500 chips. If you go bust just chalk it up to a lesson, LEAVE and do NOT re-buy (anymore). You would have to work too hard and too long just to get back to where you should be at at that particular moment in time in terms of your chip stack. By then the blinds will have gone up, and that 1500 or 3000 chips you bought will be worth practically nothing. When the first break comes, it is ideal to have around 7500 chips. If you have less than 5000 chips it would be my suggestion to addon 3000 for $1+0. This will give you the ability to see some flops without having to be too tight or too aggressive. Many might disagree, but this is my general strategy for the Bodog $500 freerolls w/rebuys. Also note that these freerolls have around 4000 or more entrants so expect to be playing for about 5 hours if you plan to win.

I usually enter them just because I'm a poor college student. I would be great if I'd ever make money but my chances are slim. If you happen to play in enough freerolls you will find that you can enter the small PTS freerolls (less people but small prize...)

I like the $1.10+.10 w/rebuys and add-on on full tilt. I place in this one often, but you have to be top 10 to make anything worth while. Last night I busted out just out of the money. I had my buy-in and 3 rebuys and an add on last night so $5.10 invested. The total pot was like $1800 on 611 players with about $500 going to first. I have won this a couple of times and a bunch of top 10 finishes. Its just a little over being a freeroll, but not the masses to wade through.

You use it like a tool. More likely to use it in a $1 rebuy than a $100 rebuy.

Do you add on? Same principle. I try to get the most chips I can early. I know the rebuy is $1, so I figure how much I want to spend say $5 to win 500 is a pretty good investment. The first couple of times I try to get in a lot of action and try to get lucky and get a chip lead. If that wont work, I settle in and start grinding.

I am not sure that they lost money; but they certainly got cheaper and harder to win money at them.
