#3yes on FullTilt-- took $100 up to $1500. If you go the cash game route, play .05/.10NL and go up from there, if you play tourneys like I do, play $5-$11 Multi-tables, or $6-$11 Sit-n-goesand go up from there.Comment -

#5Yeah like mtneer mentioned, start @ .05/.10 cash and work your way up. It's a grind but don't start at .50/$1 because you don't have the roll for it.Comment -

I did not practice anything near proper bankroll management until I got to about 500 though.Comment -

#10Don't try and grind anything less than 500. Seriously it is not worth your time unless you are playing for fun. Get a job and a better bankroll.Comment -

#15The tourney had 2,723 people in it, but it had rebuys and add-ons as well. Took about 11 hours, and when we had 4 ppl left we decided to deal. At the time I was 2nd in chips, so I got $6,750. After the deal we played merely for leaderboard points and bragging rights. I ended up taking down first place. It was quite the rush.Comment -

#19Started at $50 playing sng's @ $3 worked my why up to $70 Sng's Cashed out $4200 in about a month. Its a good way to keep your expenses low. You can make $50 last a long time with bankroll mngmt.Comment -

#23Go with what works best for your style. I personally am not the greatest cash game player and I prefer the tournament structure, but that doesn't mean it's the only way to build a bankroll. I believe most successful pros makes their weekly income off of cash games (the big online ones are played at FullTilt between Durrrr, Patrik Antonius, etc) while they wait for big tourneys like WSOP, EPT, and others to come along a few times a year.Comment -

#24I can consistently do this at BODOG and ULTIMATEBET (but not AbsolutePoker...weird). I have never had a losing month at these two sites in over 4 years of play.
I have had good runs at FTP and POKERSTARS and CAKE NETWORK but I usually end up giving it all back on these sites. Usually in an alarmingly overt run of bad beat after bad beat. Once I figured out the pattern I was seeing, when things turn south at these sites, I quit playing for a couple of weeks. When I start playing again I play as long as I am improving my BR and leave when things go south again. Seems to be the only way to build a BR at these sites for me.Comment -

#26I keep a few hundred in there...but usually can't withstand the urge to cash out after I double my original deposit.
Was down to my last $10 on tilt two years ago and won a tournament for $1200 with it.Comment -

#35The best way to build is figure out what type of game you want to focus on and for the most part only play that game.(limit, no limit, tourney, sng etc.) Every game has different strategies. Also it's pointless to start with big bankroll's, play the lowest limit until you become a winner over a good sample of hands.(if you cant consistently win these you wont be able to win higher up) Then move up limit by limit. A huge part of becoming a winning player is reading books, studying hands and reviewing your hand histories. Make sure you're always focused on you're game and trying to learn new things. You also need to become discipline, not moving up when you're on a downswing and not playing when there's distractions around you. The process of moving up can be a long one, but there's no point in investing more money than you need to and there's no point of moving up to a limit that will make you a losing player.Comment
