Now the number one most important tool a poker player has is self control. I have been replaying some of my bad beats through my head and at least half the losses are due to implosive calls. Boredom I find has been a huge factor in these seat of the pants plays. I have come up with a couple things I can do to up my odds.
1) plan the games and times you want to play. Make sure you have nothing distracting going on at this time.
2) Have another game besides poker to play while at the table. (I have been playing pinochle).
3) Clear your head before sitting down. A bunch of worries and irritations will lead to bad play. (another thing is while at a live table if you are getting upset with a certain player get up and choose another table)
