Depends on the numbers of players in the hand, your position, type of game, and your opponents playstyles.

open fold early and midn unless u think u can limp and get in a bunch of other limpers. it plays well multihanded when u hit the set. normally the only thing u might have to worry about is set over set which is extremely rare but normally the only thing that can outflop u if u hit.

          Pocket 2's.

          Depends

          Cash
          Tournament
          Blinds
          Stack Size
          Player / Table dimensions
          Your Table Image

          On and On and On
          Depends

A generic Short Answer would be:
Fold unless you can see a cheap flop.

Blinds relatively small compared to the number of BB you have >>> Limp to see the Flop. If you miss you Fold.
Your in the BB or SB and can see a Cheap Flop. Again Fold if you don't hit.

If you choose to Raise PreFlop with 2 2 then it's with ATC and the pocket pair is irrelevant IMO.
If you have the proper table image then theres Nothing wrong with that.

Poker is Situational and it really does Depend on the Situation.

Yup fold unless you can see a cheap flop. 2s are only good to set mine with and try to get lucky.

22's are usually limped and set mined and can see a multiway flop for cheap.
When short stacked and RFI late position you can raise hoping to steal the blinds
as a form of semi-bluff or go all in trying to get one opp where you want your pair in a race against Ax

If you are a tight aggressive player, in my opinion, its always best to come into a hand with a raise if you are the first to come into the pot. otherwise, smooth call so when you DO hit trips, or the elusive quads, you can convincingly check it down to trap action
