Finished second once, and like 45th another time. if you can get around 10k by the time the blinds hit 250/500 you will go far

4th place was the best that I could do at Bodog. And about a dozen times in between 50th and 70th place..It bites that only 63 got paid.

I play alot of my freerolls now at a pokersite that pays the top 180 to 250 players with between 1200 and 2500 players. It pays between 35 and 55 cents for last several places if you make it in the money. And it is held twice a day, Monday thru Friday. Get a little over 3000 chips and you can sit out the rest of the tournament to be in the money. I usually score 3 times a week.

I have taken 1st , 2nd, 3rd , 5th, 8th, 10th twice 12th and multiple times came in 20-50...To do good in this tourney you must turn your donkey sites on. You have to scope the rebuyers,loose gooses,and hard cannons. To do well in this tourney you must arrive on time because the slaughtering begins on time. If you show up 20 mins late your just giving yourself less free chips and better position on the whales.
I took first when this tourney was a 1K freeroll.. It still is fun to play the 500$ .. So quit your whining and play some poker.. It is not a fluke the same people make it through thousands every year to make it to the top 100.. It is skill and maybe if more of you had skill you would'nt be whining "OOH too many players ect ect" Last time I checked 120$ FOR playing poker for about 4 hours is not a bad day at all... I have made the final table a couple of times but never won. I tend to take much bigger chances in the beginning as there are a lot of stupid players and, besides, you need to get a large chipstack early to hang on. Then get conservative, but try to keep building your stack. In the endgame you have to get more aggressive again. Good Luck.

I was playing a freeroll on party poker back in the day and had to go so I just started shoving. I won something like 10 all in situations in a row and had about 20 times the chips as the next closest player. I finally just leave and come back 2-3 hours later to see where I'm still getting blinded out and there are less than 200 players left out of a few thousand.
