    Newbie texas holden question
    I have A QUESTION i???????????

I have a poker Texas Holden game on my PC. When playing Texas limit 10/20 or n limit

after the first around of betting the dealer ask for a OPTION.

If the big blind player responds go head, the dealer deal the flop

    BUt if

BIg blind call or raise it start a new betting around until it reach the dealer button

    then start the flop.

It was my understanding that after the first betting around it would proceed to deal the flop? So why does the game continue to proceed in asking for bet again until it reach the dealer button

Anytime there is a bet every player must call, raise, or fold. If this wasn't the case you would have some people putting in less money than others in a round of betting. Poker is fair in that everyone puts the same amount in every round (except if they have less, in which case they just put in whatever they have left and go "all in".)

Since the big blind is the last to act preflop, when nobody has raised (everyone folded, or simply limped in (just call the big bet) the big blind has the option to check. Your example of the big blind calling starting a new round is not correct.

The big blind is always the last to act unless someone limped and then someone raised after. In that instance the person who limped must make a call or fold. So the big blind call doesn't necessarily start a new round of betting. If the first person to enter the pot raised, and everyone else folded or called a big blind call would end the round of betting.

I love these threads, sometimes I can get information that I never thought to ask but always wondered about. Not this one, I already knew that, but I love the fact that someone can come here, ask any question about poker they want, and get a reasonable answer from someone. It's so nice to be part of this, everyone is decent and nice, unlike some of the sites I have been to. Thanks, and keep asking question!

            Nice explanation nybigapple.

            PreFlop:
Option is given to the BB.
BB is last to act and has the option: (Bet or Check)

            Good Question and Good Answer.
