Coolest Hand I was ever involved in!!
Back in 1998 I was playing in a ring game with a 300/600 limit.

Table had five players with large stacks. I drew pockets AA and raised from an early position pre flop. I got two calls and a reraise which I reraised. Two players folded and the other raised again so I just called pot now had 3000 and the flop came A K K I bet and he raised so I called thinking he was bagged likley he had trip K now the pot is 4200 ans the turn is a 9 I bet 6 to his raise 12 I re to 18 and he reraises to 24 now I call thinking this jerk has KKKK pot is now 9000 and the turn is A so I have AAAA and we bet until he could no longer raise (heads up no raise limit.) I am happy as a lark with 23000+ in the pot and he smiles as he caalls FOUR KINGS I simle bigger and lay down my 4AAAA the guy jumps up and is screaming with joy and I'm thinking what is wrong with this looser......... he just dropped like 12k and he is happy?????

HE SEES THE LOOK ON MY FACE AND YELLS IT'S MY BAD BEAT MAN BAD BEAT 83k 83k AND I REALIZE THIS HOUSE HAS A BAD BEAT JACKPOT AND IT'S AT 83K SO THIS GUY IS IN FOR 41.5k AND I GET THE POT AND 20.75k

    Thank you Indian Reservation!!!!!

I've won lots of rings and multi tables but never have seen a better set of hands on the same round.

i also must share the skepticism of emily.
i played a lot of casino poker in 1998 and i can assure you that most indian casinos didn't even HAVE texas hold em.

my memory isn't the best but i don't think i ever saw a game like that back then outside of vegas or atlantic city.

I think when Hard Rock in Hollywood,Florida first opened their poker room it was around 2003 or 2004, they only had .50/1 limit.

florida had those ridiculous limits, even now isn't it max $100 or $200?

all states had limits (not THAT low) which is why i question that story. most indian casinos if they had a poker room were doing $1-5 7-card stud and maybe $1-2, $2-4, and $5-10 hold em.

again i could be wrong and i don't want to ruffle any feathers. but if anyone here can confirm seeing anything close to a $300-600 limit game at an indian casino 11 years ago with a $83,000 bad beat jackpot i would like to hear it.

if you can consider that the foxwoods bad beat jackpot is around $80k now with at least 100 times as many poker players...

Could of been Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. Pretty big East Coast $$ there.

Good story. Agree with others, would like to hear this game was being spread. The poker boom hadn't happen at that point.

That is one of the best single set of hands that I have ever heard about in a live tourney.

The best series of hands I personal had playing live was pocket KKs' back to back and flopping a full boat KKK/JJ vs JJJKK, a set with the other and then 2 hands later AA to go on full with AAA full of 33. Is was at the members club Harris Las Vegas.

                                            Good times!

I never read the comments but here it is.

There were only two times I had to pay income taxes on substantial casino winnings 1998 and 2002 and indeed this hand was in 2002. In 1998 the Morango Tribe in palm Springs allowed private parties to bankroll the BJ tables they could not do so because of state law at the time and I bankrolled tables on several occasions and made large sums of cash. The casinos profit was by raking 1 dollar per hand from each player.

The poker hand was at San Manual in California and they did not have a regular 300/600 game but did have many 40/80 100/200 and a few 200/400 games but a group of high rollers often played 300/600 and 400/800 with the casinos blessings.

They had about 100 tables and often you could not get a seat without hours waiting. They also had many NL games.

The biggest BB jackpot I ever saw was in the 120s
