Played like 10 hours yesterday and won $350. I was actually disappointed because 2 different drunks were throwing $ away. They were both there like 4-5 hours but not at the same time. They probably gave away atleast $2K-$2500 combined and I barely got any of it. They were literally just giving it away.

This is part of why I think full ring is a terrible format. It's only the main format so that the casinos can maximize what they make for their space and max their rake

For any half-decent poker player, 6-max is a million times better of a game for you, if you can find it. Last night I lost $400. The last $180 was at blackjack. Started ok and up maybe $150 after 3 hours or so, but the table broke up and I kept missing at the new table. I was getting small pairs one after another, but couldn't hit a set. My last hand I flopped middle pair with backdoor flush/straight draws so I called a bet. Hit 2 pair on the turn and thought about check-raising the guys $40 bet, but it made him open-ended with a pair so he wasn't going anywhere. He made his straight on the river and I paid off his $50.

Yeah, 8 per table isn't actually too bad. When I was last a live reg it was at the Tampa Hard Rock and nearly always 9-10 players, which definitely sucked

For my style I kind of like a full table although if its late and someone is really bad/tilting then shorthanded is good. I'm not a big preflop raiser and 3 bettor so a full table is good for building pots for small pairs, suited connectors, etc

I won about $250 from poker and $880 overall on Sunday from poker/football. I had a nice TCU/Colts ML parlay also the Giants ML


Turned around yesterday and lost $600 w poker. JQ suited flopped trip Jacks in a 3 way all-in after the flop with 2 terrible players. Flopped trips and then runner runner heart flush just to have the one numbnut turn over AJ and tell me full house. Turn was the ace of hearts. Poker is a fickle bitch.

Taking a break for a while. Sold my house and have to clear out my shit and find a storage unit/apartment within a month. Nov 28th is their big giveaway for all these tickets they've been giving out, but they only announce them on the hour so you have to be in the poker room all day to win. I have 14 tickets so far for a full house or better

Won $375 earlier today and could've won twice that with a little luck. A 2 outer and a 5 outer vs the same guy

One I flopped a set with 22 on a 259 board with 2 clubs. Somebody bet $15 with 1 call then I made it $50. Didn't feel like slowplaying. A different guy smooth calls $50 and one of the other 2 called it also. Turn was a 5 which filled me up. Cant remember the turn betting or maybe it was checked around? River was a red 4 and I led out $60. Guy makes it $150 and the other guy smooth calls it. I just knew someone had a bigger boat and I folded after a minute or two. 2nd guy that called showed 52 on the big blind for a 2 outer on the turn. That sucked, but everyone seemed to think I made a hero fold since I showed it. Both these guys were solid and I just couldn't see both of them betting/calling $150 cold without one of them having a bigger boat

Never could figure out what $150 on the flop guy had? I'm thinking A3 clubs and he made the wheel on the river? Solid guy atleast my age and don't know what else was on the flop that was worth $150?

Later on I had black AA and same guy turned 2 pair on me with KJ

Oh well it was fun and I turned a profit because of some loose ass kids sitting down so lucky I found their table

The big pot I hit yesterday was kind of a funny hand. I hit it off this goofy kid sitting next to me on my right. He'd just shoved something like $150-$175 with KT offsuit against 2 people and won.

I had red JJ and raised to $20 after he limped. 2 callers total including the kid

Flop was QKA of hearts. So I had nut flush draw, royal fl draw, and a straight draw.

He checks and I decide to check back because he's goofy and might check raise big on a random Ace.

Turn is a 2 (non-heart) and kid overbets pot slightly $75. I feel like folding because I hate 1 card draws. Its hard enough to hit the draw from the flop, but I call.

River is the 5 hearts. Bingo. I've got the nuts

Kid bets $200 and I hesitate a while before shoving. He folds and shows set of 2s (no heart). He says he would've shoved if he was holding the 2 of hearts.

I ended up getting the rest of his money shortly enough. We both flopped trip 9s with a 993 flop. We both check the flop and a guy bets $25 with a caller. The kid makes it $100 and only had like another $100 behind him. I shove with J9 thinking my kicker is most likely better since he was playing any 2 cards. He had 96 so I was right. Turn was a low blank and then Jack on the river to give me the winning boat. Otherwise my Jack kicker most likely wins anyway

Made almost $1200 yesterday between cfb and poker. Running great, but I could've got buried just as easily. My big cfb play was Auburn/W Kentucky Over 53/54 and Auburn sealed it with a pick-6 mid 4Q. I could've lost that one if Auburn got it back and sat on the ball. Put $300 on it and forgot I already put $150 on it earlier in the week on MGM. Got USC at halftime too.

As for Poker, I got a seat around 8pm after 4pm cfb wrapped up and the table was boring af with no action. Finally after about 2 hours some of them left and the action picked up.

2 big hands where I felted guys were as follows:

I hit a gutshot on the turn on a guy since he under bet ($100 pot maybe?) and he gave me the evil eye. About 5-10 minutes later he raises and I call $15 with KQ.

Bingo. I check and he bets like $75. I shove and he calls with AQ diamonds. He had a gutshot for nut straight and nut fl draw. I won and he shuffled away defeated)). We both had the same exact chip count after the all-in. $256 apiece I think? Something like that. I always sit down with $300-$325

Other hand I flopped a set and this kid basically handed me his stack for $250 with only a pair of 5s on a 245 flop (2 hearts). I had 222. He played fairly solid for atleast 2 hours so that was weird. I thought he had A3, 44, or 55, but I called $100 check raise on the flop and the turn was a 4 to give me a boat. How can I fold that? We get it all in and he has 1 fkn pair? I was up $950 poker alone at one point, but started feeling too good and donked back $300

Don't want it to sound like its all smooth sailing. When I take a break writing on this thread then I'm running bad. Early October I went one night and dropped my $300 buy-in and got out $400 more and gave that away at blackjack. Thats very rare though. I'm 56 and I've played poker 45 years so I don't really tilt that much.

Update. Had a period about 2-3 weeks ago where I went apeshit playing blackjack, including $100/hand big boy room and dropped like $1500, but was hot before and I've been on another heater for about a week.

Poker wise....last night won a big pot with 88 that took alot of luck. Regular $1/$3

First to come in and I raise $16. Indian guy sitting next to me makes it $32. He's loose and kind of tilty. I'm fairly tight and this is like the 3rd time he's reraised me. Folded around to some calling station and he's all-in with his last $47. I can't decide to put reraiser all-in with his last $140-$150 or just call. 88 isn't that great so I just call. He shoves which I don't think should've been allowed, but I called? $16 to $32 to $47 reopens $32 to reraise? Idk?

Anyway reraiser had A9 suited, calling station had JQ and somehow my 88 survived all that shit without flopping a set

Before that I had AA and survived a shorty all-in and 2 other callers.

Overall running decent and the players are as bad as ever over here

Feeling ok and up about $275 about 2 hours in and this cocky guy raises to $15. He's 3 bet me off AJ or KT suited atleast 2-3 times and I'd love to bust him. Small blind calls and I call in the big with AT off. I'd probably fold that to most raisers, but not this guy. He'd raised late position with QJ off, etc

Of course the ahole has 33 and I get felted. Why is it that everytime I felt someone they have $150 or $200 at most? I can't even remember the last $1K+ pot I won. Probably in November

To me, 1/3 live is not enough money to be “pro” unless you are putting in a ton of hours. You just don’t get to see enough hands. There’s going to be a cold run that will kill your hourly rate eventually, even with how bad they are. Plus, you are tipping the dealer, waitress etc. I suppose it is possible but very hard.

Yep. Playing a little on Bovada and doing fine. I just play SNGs from $15-$50. Those $27.50 Knockout SNGs are kind of fun. Only 18 players and I've came in 2nd place 3x out of 8 games

One good thing about getting older is you become aware of your own shortcomings, etc. Know thy self! I'm too emotional (angry) to play professionally for one thing even if I was good enough. Secondly poker isn't fun to me when I play too much. Its not good for your health either....to just sit on your ass for half a day for months on end

Anyone that can do it besides these trust fund pricks has my respect though

They have daily tournaments, but the rake is over 30% for the $110 tourneys. THey have a $270 and a $330 or something on the weekend. I want to try them at some point, but going to check the rake

Played yesterday and got hammered. AK (I had like $370 from $300 buyin) put a shorty all-in ($100 maybe for him) with his KK and another calling station numbnut called with QK spades. So KK couldn't improve and the first card turned over was the Ace of spades but QK turned the spade flush so I couldn't escape. That cost me like $170-$180

Very next hand I have QT diamonds and flop is AKT (AK diamonds). They have a royal promo for $250 and I didn't want to scare the guy off before atleast the turn. He just had a weak ace but turned 2 pair so then my turn raise didn't run him off and of course I missed the river too. Oh well

Good news is my Ace/5 counting system is working somewhat at Blackjack. Won like $240 there and won a chunk on Pacers +5.5 and +160 to +185 for a Haliburton double-double on my apps. Great value because he averages a double-double? 20 points/10 assists

Also just finished another $25+2.50 ($10 knockout) 18 players on Bovada. Another 2nd place with 5 knockouts!! I got extremely lucky in this one though. Cracked AK with K8 suited and JJ with A9. $130.50 profit! I've played 9 in 2023 and came in 2nd four times (pays to 4th). Overall I've played 14 Sit-N-Gos and cashed 9 for $334. Thats $23.85 profit per game. I'm running good, but the players also generally suck. Especially at night. Wish I could play more, but I'm working again

I'm thinking a realistic goal could be 60 games/month at $12 game which is $700+, but I've had this goal a hundred times and its never happened. I run good for a week then horrible and I quit or tilt or start playing small PLO because Sit-n-Gos get boring. I'm sticking with this shit for January and we'll see what happens. Its easy and I can cap games between hands, etc or watch TV

I think everyone but anti-socials prefer live, but I've been getting cracked for my stack and that takes the wind out of your sails. Other times I go and its 3-4 regulars at the table and they're all pretty good. They do have the Board back up for Quads & better, but its down to $250.

Nice turnaround. I think the beginning of this thread I went over a dumbass 2 outer where the guy made an idiot call like that and rivered me. I ended up rebuying and wiping him out, but how often does that happen? I don't know about you, but I start to tilt and it usually gets worse.

Couple weeks ago I tried to soldier on after the worst player at the table cracked my AA with KK on the river, but it was hard to get back $400 on that table. Of course he spread it around to others and busted out, but I probably dropped another $150.

I know what you mean about bluffers. There is 2 deep pocket bluff types that I try to sit with whenever I can. Its not just the bluffing, but they'll play J7 suited for $30 preflop. They overbet too. THey just give $ away quite often and it doesn't bother them in the least

Running so good with NFL & blackjack over there. I hit the SF team total big on Sat and then a NYG prop and a Barkley TD for $475 yesterday.

Sat down in the poker room twice for about 90 minutes each this weekend and did nothing. Boring tables and didn't get much on the one set I flopped. I like to wander around and look for a better table, but they usually move me back

SNGs on Bovada have picked up again though. Just won one for $120.50 profit. Very lucky as my 88 all-in vs AA turned a gutshot straight. Get to the last 2 and lose 77 to 66 on the river, but came back and won

Last 3 I've won $232.50. I've now played 21 of these $27.50 Knockouts with 18 players and I've got two 1sts, five 2nds, one 3rd, and two 4ths. Thats 7 final 2 finishes in 21 games. Not bad

I'm back up to $17.91 per game with 25 SNGs to make it to 60

Long story short as possible. Walked in the poker room yesterday afternoon and ended up playing with a Indianapolis Colt named Byron Cowart. Super nice guy and threw some $ around. He'd fold about 2 hands an hour. I won $225 and was still slightly pissed because the game was so juicy.

Side note on this guy. 300 lb and no fat whatsoever. I googled his info while we were sitting there. I asked a couple of Colts questions, but he didn't say much. He was drafted by Belechik/NE. ESPN's #1 recruit in the f country coming out of high school! He went to Auburn and got drafted in the 5th round

Today my friend texted me that he was back. So I walk in around 3pm and his table is full. They start a new game and there's 2-3 really old people and not much action. I start raising mediocre shit and trying to loosen up the game. A few people came and went and it worked. Didn't hurt that I was red hot. Flopped 888 vs old ladies KK and got her stack. I was happy with $550 profit and was almost ready to go. I stepped away and called a friend back. 15 min later I sit down and look at AA. I straddled $6 utg which made up for missed blinds. Guy makes it $20 (or $25?) and a shorty shoves like $35. I make it $100 and the raiser shoves like $250 with QQ. I played a little loose earlier but $100 reraise isn't f around in a 1/3 game. I think a good player can fold QQ there, but maybe he read me as kind of a nut. I haven't seen him before. We both flopped sets so just calling wouldn't have saved him either

I take that down and then hit set of 8s again and set of Kings. It was nuts. $1460 for the home team!! That was fun as hell. I wasn't even there more then 4 hours
