The more I read posts about Bwin, the more confident I am that they are run like Bernard's Madoff (65$ billion scam) pyramid fraud, the most players lose anyway, this is not a problem for Bwin, but some players are winning and Bwin have very expensive multimillion expenditures on their advertising, so they run their book in a way to pay some winning players from the losses of losing players, but sometimes it doesn't match, then they need to do this SECURITY REASON trick to close winning accounts.
Bwin is not as big as their market cap is ( 800 mln EUR) on the stock exchange. There is no major shareholders in Bwin like institutional investors, pension funds, mutual funds and equity is controled by insiders 20%, the rest is free float, which means that anybody can buy 80% of Bwin on any single day as this shares are available. That's why Bwin insiders keep the stock price artificially high, all is needed is to place buy orders for very small number of shares to keep the price stable.
Other bookmakers like Ladbrokes, PartyGaming, WilliamHill have very extensive shareholders most of them institutional and if you compare the charts of this books and Bwin, you will see that it doesn't correspond to reality of economic situation, Bwin chart is much higher than of competitors. How come Bwin looks so good compared to Ladbrokes? It is because of stock manipulation, Bwin is listed in Vienna and there is no regulation like listing in UK or US. Look at my link, where Bwin shares that trade on PinkSheets in US are in the DARK/DEFUNCT category by US accounting standards. Hmm. http://www.mkapital.com/id40.html
