    Losing a friend
This is off topic for this forum but this is the section I felt it needed to be.

I don't post on here alot but most of you guys know me, I've become friends with quite a few of ya. A few years ago I became friends with one and we talked pretty often although I had never met him. His name on here is Stikymess. We'd talk about game spreads, comic cons, movies, family and just life in general. I hadn't heard from him in awhile so I text him Thursday asking where he was, I got a reply on Friday saying it was his fiance and they had found lesions on his brain and he only had a few days to live.

I was pretty shocked and upset to hear that news, I knew he had some health issues over the past year or two but I was just expecting him to reply he's been busy or something but unfortunately that wasn't the case this time.

Yesterday was my birthday and I thought about his situation throughout the day. I got a text today telling me he had passed away earlier today.

While I don't think he was a regular poster, alot on here knew him from poker and occasionally the betpoints section. The forum lost a good dude and I lost a great friend.

    Rest in piece brother

I actually remember him. Tough break, but hopefully he lived a great life while he was alive.

It isnt how long you live, but HOW you lived that matters!

Damn, that sucks. He was a poker-reg. I remember having some friendly exchanges w/ him at the tables.

Wish I could say that I remember more than that. Too sad, RIP stikymess.

Damn.. this reminded me of a message he sent me back on November 10th. We had a BTP bet.

"Astro , So please see attached, due to hospital procedure (surgery) the co-pays, co-insurance buried me, I had hoped to become pro again after like two weeks after being removed, SBR basically staying, stay in contest once removed and return I would start 0-0 so at that point, no way I would qualify for a prize.

I have an outstanding loan with dngf for 3k, asked for another 3k explained what was going on, I've always paid back my loans with crazy interest way and far beyond what was need. SO wanted to hit you up and take your thoughts about it I'm currently +3.85 as of today.

Wondering what you would wanted to do with our wager? Void it? play it out and see if you can beat +3.85, let me know what you think is fair. Or once I return what ever record I have going forward start out 0-0 Sorry man forgot all about renewal and was paying deducible to have surgery since it wasn't yet met and as fun as SBR was going to choose to put my health ahead of it.

I know tons of liars and people with crazy stories on SBR if you need paperwork on surgery let me know.

          Thanks

          Stiky

I remember the name as well. I know that's not the point. It's always tough to hear such news whether is your best friend or an internet brother.

I hate reading stuff like this before someone passes. When they talk about future events. Very eerie.

Yeah, it sucks. Obviously I canceled the bet right away and told him not to worry about it, just to get better. Just wish more people got better.

Very sad news indeed. Hopefully he didn't have to suffer much.

The life goes on though Gents...there are still plenty of games left to cape, more clowns to bury and more money to make.

                                      So cheers to LIFE!

4UK sorry to hear about your loss (or news at least). Good energy here from Sinmiedo and the best way to look at it.

I lost my best friend suddenly in 2012 and never had a chance to say goodbye. I'm not around sbr poker much but if you ever need to chat about it you always have an ear.
