Well... not to brag or nuthin'... but I've been called a porn savant/historian on more than one occasion through the years.

Riley and I became fairly major forces on a once-upon-a-time influential force (in the porn industry) usenet group back in the late 90's-early 2000's. Some major stories were broke there (Marc Wallice's HIV status and subsequent actresses' infections...went national news!). A Who's Who of porn notables posted there including AVN's top brass. Max Hardcore (Paul Little, convicted of obscenity and sentenced jail time) read one of my posts in one of his vids (he read a couple others', too). That usenet group was about as influential as you could reasonably get then... and I could tell ya many stories of its effect on the industry. It died due to the easy access web portals eventually taking over.. BUT... the Internet Adult Film Database lives on, born from that in all its glory!

Because you actually had to be somewhat tech savvy to access a usenet newsgroup server back then, the discussions on that board were actually intellectual in nature... I shit you not. Very few trolls because less than 10% (according to stats I read at time) even knew what usenet was. So, Riley and I constantly engaged and wrote long treatises about porn's influence in society and culture, direction porn was going in, i.e. "raincoater" etc, and other stuff similar that had quite the following amongst the group. Porn peeps chimed in all the time in our discussions. Couple porn directors/writers requested permission to reprint some stuff on their websites. While our constant back-and-forth was often antagonistic, we actually respected each other and communicated via email, as well.

As far as the star on that boxcover, brunette Bridget Monet: she was fairly popular at one time and, in fact, went on to become a doctor, as in M.D. Playboy did a whole story/spread on her revealing as such in the 80's. Her being a doctor has been corroborated by various other sources through the years, not disputed. She usually only worked with other girls and her husband.
