I remember this happened to me once in the last World Cup. Flopped top 2 pair and d/c in the middle of a huge pot. IIRC, it actually ended up saving me a ton of chips as apparently the other guy in the pot sucked out on the river but still....

Donk, it was tough luck. But if you look at all the results, today all the would be favorites took a convient bad beat. So SBR is obviously tanking the top players so they don't have to pay out MVP bets.
