Hard to say with no good read...but for the non-sophisticated player he seems to be this doesn't happen with a weak hand, this is KK-AA way more often than AK or JJ right? If you think he's doing that with JJ or AK it's probably a pretty close call with what you have in the pot already; if not, then not. In my experience, you're looking at AA, KK, QQ, maybe AKs. Dunno though, depending on my mood I might be tempted to make a crying call and see if an A or K high flop can save me some money, or if I can set up on him

Feels so nitty to fold but that 5bet Looks like he wants action And means business. Having some time to think about it, I agree unless he's just on monkey tilt this is QQ+ and maybe AK or JJ. I ended up jamming and he snaps and flips over KK...I river a Q and he proceeds to go on a profanity laced tirade of 1000 Auto donks and mikejamms. Outcome was ok...but didn't know if I played it ok.

Well I know you have posted the answer already so take this with a grain of salt.

At those stakes (0.25/0.50 NL), I would guess that it is very very rare for a player to make a 5 bet without a top 5 hand. The only way you are ahead is if he is a total maniac and is not realizing you have a top 5 hand also. Unless he has seen more of your hands and has you absolutely pegged he has to praying you do not have AA or Ax against his kings and I am kinda surprised that he snap calls.

To me, you are both playing like you have AA and you only should be doing that with less than that against players you have a solid read on.

Not pandering to you but his snap call is the worst play here because your shove (the 6th bet) should be telling him KK is beat (even though it wasn't) and he could not have that read on you so it was just him calling and praying.

Not a good idea. Obviously, you're shutting down on a A or K high flop, right? Think about flops like 9 6 2, 10 8 6 etc. Would you be surprised if your opponent shows you AA or KK?

If he has KK-AA it's just a top of the range cooler. He's playing it regardless of what I do. His 3betting range is wider than his 4bet calling range and certainly his 5betting range. Basically I believe by 4betting, I isolate myself against a tighter range by folding out more of his weak hands than if I were to call vs a wider 3bet range and proceed from there. QQ is still crushing his 3betting range. May or may not continue on a A or K flop. He could still x/f flop. Then again him being an unknown makes it a little tougher, so 4betting possibly the safer way to go...

well, as no one wanted to take a stab at the move I should make to maximize my return on my quads.... I'll give you how I handled it. Knowing yahoo to be pretty aggressive, and figuring he might have spiked that ace on the turn (and hoping it gave him at a minimum aces up), I paused a second or two, and shoved...... he snap calls and ships me his remaining chips. maximum return achieved!
