Oh yes, and yisman is not allowed to play anyway. He is the best player on the site and he would have to start out with -250 points to make it fair

A simple "My total is 8310 would have sufficed." I am not sure how anyone would have ever looked at the page you listed above. That is the first time that I have ever even seen those names on that page.

Now you're reading too much into it. Are you a woman by chance? Im just trying to clarify the scoring system. Anyone who enters a contest without fully knowing the rules is a complete ignorant moron. I also think we can give Yi$$y a run for his money. Also thanks to Gummo for the info that sat & Sun tournies dont show up under tourney stats.

We most likely wont need a screen shot anyway. If you make the money one day, post it in this thread if no one has done so already. We also get badges to cross-check as well.

As for the ties, we have played this for about 5 months now going back to last year and I cant remember a tie for 1st anyway. And we used to get around 15 people enter each month.

Yes it's vague. It doesnt really state how the score is tallied, other than 'Daily tournaments will be counted towards a players final score & screenshots of each tourny after it's finished will be used to informally calculate scores.' Well how do you calculate scores!? Unless i missed it no where do i see anything stating your score is based SOLELY on points acquired from placing in daily tournaments. Just seems like adding this makes it very clear where your score is coming from.

Also wanted to add that your rules for tiebreakers is lame. After a long month of competition you want to decide a tie on a coinflip?? This may never occur but if it does i think whoever has more 1st place finishes should decide, then 2nd and so on. Whoever came up with the poker hand coinflip idea needs to be shot.

I think you are on to something about me coming up with a contest with my own rules. I have a feeling my rules would kickass. None of this 6% trim of the pot or coinflips. Skill should always reign.

Also i dont understand why the first initial screenshot? Obviously if we win a tourny on Sat or Sunday these numbers will be off. Am i missing something here? How is that screenshot useful?

I suppose I could have explicitly said "counted towards" means "adding the results together", but is there really any other way to interpret it?

Regardless, you now seem to have a grasp on the concept. If you're interested in participating, feel free to do so; if not, feel free to whip up a better contest which somehow requires more skill by not using a humorous coinflip as an unlikely tie breaker and by saving 6% and not incentivizing updates. (In case you're still hung up on that, the amount I hand out to the winner for a free play covers the "trim" and then some).

Screen shots still required as they make things much much easier (simple before and after math instead of having to rely on self-reporting and dissappearing/glitching badges). Wasn't an issue last month with disparity between results and few # of contestants, btu best to be prepared goign into it.

A simple check of post #23 would have sufficed. You were the only one who decided not to check post #23, so the linked page was for your convenience only. Most poker players know of the page, as it's not hard to find. I never noticed your name on it, as it's top players for the year. A few good months won't cut the mustard.

Shrug, you're right, I don't get it...adding results together seems like the most likely way to interpret it by far and seems very clear (if I was going to multiply them by pi and weight them according to time of month or something, seems like that would be further explained in the rules). Some folks like yourself might interpret it differently, which requires a few words of clarification to figure out; I have nothing against that.

My main objection is to your tone, calling things lame and idiotic because you don't like them and could do better (in theory anyways, I haven't seen your contest thread with these super-skill-based rule changes of yours though). So settle down partner, it is what it is...either you're in or you're just a bystander whose opinions aren't of particular concern.

Rules similar (nay, identical) to March's contest March Poker Leaderboard Contest. Reposting here for clairty:

1st place: 94%

5-8 Participants
1st place: 66%
2nd place: 28%

9+ Participants
1st place: 48%
2nd place: 28%
3rd place: 18%

6% to person posting most results during period (explained below)

Entry Fee: Variable, with minimum 50 points, maximum 500 points, in 50 point intervals. Every interval a player buys in for over the base 50 points qualifies him for the next level of payout. See 2nd post for example of how this works!!

Scored contests: Daily tournaments from June 3rd to June 28th (inclusive) will be counted towards a player's final score. Official scoring will be observed by players posting screenshots of their Cashier window before their first playing their first daily in May. The window to get and post screenshots is smaller due to not doing it around the weekend, be sure you grab one before playing! Sreenshots can be posted in this thread.

Informal scoring: to keep a running score, players are encouraged to post screen shots of each daily tournament after it's finished, from which participants' scores will be informally calculated and periodically updated. To incentivize this, 6% of the total prize pool will be awarded to the player who first posts the most daily tourney results to this thread.

Prizes awarded based strictly on final leaderboard standings among participants. For example: 1st place prize goes to highest place finisher among participants, 2nd to 2nd highest, etc).

Registration will close on Monday, June 3rd at 6:00 AM EST. I'll hold points for the duration of the contest and keep them in my sportsbook balance separate from my personal points.

I will once again offer a free play to the participant with the best performance overall in the amount of 20 points per entrant.

Yes, I heard what you thought to be the truth the first time. If you had bothered to do something as simple as read the linked March contest before shooting off your mouth, you'd see that you weren't the first one with the "brilliant" insight to question the 6%. There was some discussion about it, but in the end I stuck with it; as I mentioned above, the fact I'm handing out a free play to the winner covers the miniscule loss anyways, so really no grounds for complaint.

What you see as a verbal attack is me pointing out facts, and if those facts tend to paint you in an unfavorable light, you have noone to blame but yourself. If I appear arrogant, perhaps it's because I have little patience for someone who rushes in to criticize something without understanding even basic concepts (such as how daily results are tracked in the cashier, or how to disagree about things without calling the other side lame, idiotic or deserving of being shot) and I have no reason not to let your ignorance go unanswered.

Regardless of your thoughts, you seem to think the contest is worth entering...go ahead and respond to get the last word, and then hopefully you won't feel the need to clutter up the thread anymore. Good luck.
