BOL to you tonight, you may be right with Rays play but McAllister was throwing rocks until Cabrera gift-wrapped 4 runs in last meeting. Watched every minute of that godawful loss.Comment -

Those are facts that are backing my wager. I'm don't have an angle, just facts, no systems......
Hey, I'm smart enough to know, games are won on grass, not paper, you can 'cap a stakes horse race to perfection too, but the horses run on dirt, not off of a daily racing form, so stuff happens, and what looks solid on paper doesn't always pan out on the field.
I get that. Always have, always willComment -

#41Cleveland may not have hit Villeneuava yesterday but their effort should be enough to remind everyone that they are the most patient team in the league. They still drew 5 walks off the Jays starter. That would be more than enough to sink any right hander not having a career strikeout game as CV did yesterday. It would appear that some are placing a bit too much relevance to that game. Flip the boxscore back a day and let us know how that applies to tonight's tilt.
The Indians lead the league in walks drawn and have an OPS 100 points better off of right hand starters than left.
Tampa is second in the league in walks drawn but that is easily negated by their league lead in strikeouts.
There appears to be little value in Tampa here. Cleveland is a better play.Comment -

#43Dude, why you getting so defensive? I even said gl and one of us will win. Cleveland still stuck at +112. Heck, the way you make it sound so B&W Michael Jordan might as well load up here $500k on the Tribe and use the "L" word.
Books don't just give away money. I capped my games last night. I normally use line shifts to cap and that +112 says please please pound me and over think it.
You have yet to explain why there is any value in Tampa at all other than your perceived line movement. A line that opened at Cleveland +127 and now sits at +115 somehow indicates value on the opposite side?
Somehow I don't think the books are ever going to have to worry about you overthinking anything.Comment -

#47Just wondering how that works. Does the line call you up and say to you "Mr. Thurgood please pound me"?

I was burned by the Cards last night and a lot of it was overthinking sh*t. Reds were at home, better bullpen, better D, better offense but people place a little too much emphasis on capping pitchers.
Anything can happen in baseball and these two pitchers are pretty equivalent. Coin toss like that and you just take the home side, especially when they were getting hits off Beckett the night before. Let me guess, Beckett is not as good as McAllister?
I also think there is something to be said about Cleveland's unforced errors and the fact the Rays just beat this team recently.Comment -

#48Steve, looking forward to seeing you in this thread during the game and don't go head plank off the balcony because the Rays take an 8-0 lead or something.
As my Asian friends in the baccarat room would say, never bet against a streak! Tribe on a two game losing streak and I hope it holds up.Comment -

#56a) Yankee fan, don't give a crap about these two teams unless there is money involved.
b) Cleveland Indians hit .275 against right handed pitching, that's third best in the majors.
c) Cleveland Indians lead the majors in OBA against right handed pitchers.
d) Yes, Villanueva was lights out yesterday, the '27 Yankees would have been shut out.
e) Yes, Villanueva is right handed, he's on a different level then Alex Cobb, they are facing Cobb tonight, not Villanueva.
f) You don't handicap off of one game, you handicap on an entire body of work. If the Cubs beat Kershaw last night, would you bet them again tonight if they were facing NYY or Texas?
g) Btw not a Tampa homer at all. I just know they can hit in their own ballpark.
Really? Really? Are you some kind of masochist? Do you really enjoy me embarrassing you? Do you like the taste of your foot in your mouth?
NOW PAY ATTENTION! The Tampa Rays hit .221 at home. I'll say it again real slow ...TWO...TWENTY...ONE.
That is good for 29th out of 30th in home batting average? If you knew that, you wouldn't say this "I just know they can hit in their own ballpark"
Looking forward to your next post. I really am.
