do people need to attend culinary school to know what food tastes good? or film school to know what movies are good?

so what makes you think an avg person cant judge a fight? its not exactly rocket science.

You really think those are apt analogies? By your logic, anyone could be a NBA, NFL or MLB official too, right? It's not rocket science.

Books do not fall for fukkin commentators....Maybe most of the general public does, but Sportsbooks do not, and certainly not to that extent.

We're talking about a situation here where Bradley was (according to the judges) winning the fight as a 90 to 1 underdog going into the last round!

Think about that for a second......How can someone that is supposed to be winning a fight be such a huge longshot?

Because of a few commentators on HBO???

Books would be out of fukkin business in 2 seconds if they operated this way, use your head here

The real reason is that the books saw what 99.9% of us saw (including the commentators to a degree).....Bradley was getting his ass kicked and needed a miracle knockout. Don't give me anything else because it's a joke.

            Even with the sound off:

            Pacquiao was the aggressor.

Pacquiao was the one moving forward.

Pacquiao was the one throwing more.

Pacquiao was the one landing more.

Pacquiao was the one landing the cleaner shots.

Pacquiao was the one landing the harder shots.

Pacquiao was the one landing the more effective shots.

Pacquiao was the one wobbling his opponent.

Pacquiao was the one do all these things for the majority of the rounds.

Even when looking for rounds to give Bradley the benefit of the doubt in, you still can't give him more than Manny. It was a clear cut win for Pacquiao. I had it 10-2 or Pacquiao live, then 9-3 after the re-watch while on mute.

Even 7-5 for Pacquiao is a bad score, IMO. But 7-5 for Bradley? Yikes!

              this shows your ignorance.

if the fight were in manila, you could say it was a pro-pacquiao crowd.... but this was in vegas. fans there are about as unbiased as it can get. they pay a lot of money hoping to catch a great fight. if they don't get it, they will let them know by booing both fighters. they will also reward a great fight by rooting for both fighters. and if they disagree with a decision, they will also let the judges and fighters know, just like they did saturday and the marquez fight when many of them felt he beat pacquiao.

Nonsense. What other context could this apply in? Every other sport has a scoreboard to go by. It's pretty simple. Basketball, football, baseball, soccer, hockey, you name it. They all have running tallies that make live lines pretty obvious. Boxing is the only sport I can think of where that's just not the case. So yeah, it's really not surprising that they'd be heavily influenced listening to the commentary that they know the bettors are also listening to. Besides, how many people live bet boxing? LOL

Either way, my main point is this: How can the discrepancy be someone who should be winning a fight as a 90-1 dog......Books are too sharp to base ALL of their opinions to create their live lines on fukkin commentators' opinions

Most likely the commentators just confirmed their and everyone else's thoughts: PAC-man was working Bradley badly

There is no other explanation for a live line as +9000.......Most books are way too sharp to offer such a ridiculous proposition UNLESS something is way off, which in this case THERE WAS

Sportsbooks and mainstream media say Pacquiao was robbed by judges.

Vegas sportsbooks furious with Pacquiao-Bradley result

                        • covers.com/articles/columns/articles.aspx?theArt=277487#

You won’t find an article saying underdog Tim Bradley Jr. rightfully won a 12-round decision against Manny Pacquiao. What you will read is everyone calling this one of the worst results in boxing’s long shady history.

Two of the three fight judges (CJ Ross and Duane Ford) scored Bradley 115-113. The third judge (Jerry Roth) had it 115-113 in favor of Pacquiao. The Las Vegas Review Journal and the Associated Press scored the fight 117-111 in favor of Pacquiao, while ESPN.com and Harold Lederman – HBO’s unofficial judge – had it 119-111, again in favor of Pacquiao. Even Bradley’s corner had PacMan winning eight of the 12 rounds, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

When mainstream media types hint at corruption, you know it’s not going to go over well at Las Vegas sportsbooks. Bradley was a live dog, priced between +330 and +375 in the fight, and not all books were happy about cashing those tickets.

Las Vegas Hotel and Casino oddsmaker Jeff Sherman said it was a bad result but that wasn’t what got under his skin.

"I can live with losses but not with corruption,” Sherman said in an email to Covers.

Shortly after last night’s controversial decision, Sherman’s boss and sportsbook director at LVH SuperBook, Jay Kornegay, tweeted:

“I know it won’t happen but I feel this should be the last boxing match we’ll ever book @LVSuperBook. #ridiculous”

Caesars Entertainment sportsbook analyst Todd Fuhrman suggested on Twitter that there’s an argument for discontinuing booking boxing in Nevada.

“…state doesn’t allow us to book events that are voted upon, thinking boxing should fall under this clause now.”

Statistics tell the story. Pacquiao landed more punches in 10 of the 12 rounds, he landed 34 percent of his punches compared to 19 percent for Bradley, and PacMan connected with more power blows (190 to 108).

Even those who benefited from the result were outraged.

“Bradley by decision was the best result possible for us,” Cantor Gaming sportsbook director Mike Colbert told Covers in an email Sunday morning. “That being said, it was the worst decision I've seen in my lifetime. Even worse than the first Lennox Lewis-Holyfield fight.”

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum represents both Bradley and Pacquiao, and couldn’t believe the decision.

“I’ve never been as ashamed of the sport of boxing as I am tonight,” Arum told reporters. “I’m going to make a lot of money on the rematch, but this was outrageous.”

“I went over to Bradley before the decision, and he said, ‘I tried hard but I couldn’t beat the guy.’”

Following the fight, Joe Fortenbaugh, Vegas resident and writer for The National Football Post, tweeted:

“I have a winning ticket on Bradley and I'm sick to my stomach over that. Will still cash it, but I am completely stunned.”

The rematch is expected to happen in November.

Update: Jay Kornegay emailed and said the result “wasn't that bad. Compare to an above average pro football game. We'll survive. Terrible for sport and betting.”

Live betting places will do their best to judge the fight and who is winning, you think Bet365 is a square operation? You think they would have Pacman at -15000 going into the 12th round if he wasnt DOMINATING the fight?

-15000 means Pacman will win unless he gets knocked out, thats the ONLY way he can lose. You dont post -15000 if the guy is TIED going into the 12th round. HAHAHAH

                                            Pacroid still won this fight.

But what hurt him was taking those rounds off (or atleast the first 2 minutes) Judges judge the whole round not just the last 30 seconds.

I still think Pacroid won by 3 or 4 rounds

I'd have to rewatch the fight to be sure, but IMO Bradley lost the first round because majority of his punches were just hitting Manny's forearms.

I watched this fight through Top Rank, and their announcers seemed to be building a case for Bradley to win the entire fight, then when he did they were "shocked".
