In order for someone to take 20% which all of us educated people know is bullshit, it would have had to be in collection for a long time. The whole time you arent paying a collector your credit is getting dinged. If they finally offered you 20% to get out of collection they were probably after you for a year or two.

and shocked they let you settle for 20%. standard settlement is usually 50% and when you settle instead of paying in full its reflected on the report as settled for less

I make a payment from a bank account that i have used before for 7500, even though i don't have the 7500 to cover it in the bank...

B of A credits my account the next day before the funds have been proven to not exist in my bank account..

That same day i send a paypal "payment" to a friend of mine

when the b of A finds out i didn't have the funds available, the 7500 is put back on the card, along with the 7500 from Paypal

So now i have a balance of 15000...

I don't make a payment for 90 to 120 days..

BkofAma accepts a settlement to resolve the account at 20% of what the balance is after 120 or so days, somewhere around 21500, so they accept 4300 and the account is paid in full

Yeah its a ding on your credit, and it takes balls to do, but it can and does work
