Sports Interaction---Asking for social security number for ID purposes

I am pretty sure. After multiple deposits and losing everything was fine. Then I finally won some money two months later and then they required me give then Social security number along with answering questions about my family, etc.

I looked at their online form to join, they don't ask for SSN there, if they want it, they should ask there.

Its for real. I pasted the email which is above stating if I wanted a withdrawal I had to do there ID check. Well, OK I hit the link where it told me to go and it says enter social security number. After entering my social which I did not want to do questions came up like I was taking a test. They knew my sisters name, her age and I had to answer that correctly. Another question was to verify an old address of about 3-4 years ago which I never gave SIA. So yes to get this kind info they did some sort of credit check. I asked them what type of credit check it was and they would not tell me.

I done this before a while back for a pokersite (I think it was a pokersite... it was several years ago) but it was on a deposit not on a withdraw... I don't know about you but if it was me I would be more willing to accept this if it was done on the deposit side on not the withdraw... The idea that the sites only care about proper identification once you win doesn't sit well with me... Clearly, they don't want to scare off new players so they play like it is easy and fast to get money back and forth with their sites...

Also, it needs to be clearly stated upfront that you should expect this kind of hassles after you win...

The more I think about this the more pissed I get... The sites don't give a shit about protecting the player from fraud only themselves... This is exactly the type of site you would get a **** you from if your account and money had been stolen and fraudulently gambled away... This BS needs to end and, if this is a new policy, I think they're definitely due a downgrade....

As mentioned earlier, this is exactly the same process Neteller follows to verify their accounts. Many people chirp about how wonderful Neteller is, but when you dig a little deeper you realize you are being deceived.

Directly from Neteller's ToS...

25. You acknowledge that for identity verification purposes, the following information may be provided to Merchants who you transfer funds to or from: Name, Account Number, Jurisdiction, Email Address, and/or IP Number.

SIA most have missed the SS # not being on that list... This needs to be in their ToS or requested up front...

Ironically enough I was getting ready to make a deposit to SIA because I thought their intitial bonus was pretty good... Now all they are getting from me is an email explaining that this BS is why I won't be making a deposit there....

well i was waiting for the SSN requirement yesterday when i requested a 2500 withdrawal thru neteller and wasnt exactly sure what i was going to do however the withdrawal was like clockwork as is my usual experience with sia. as a side note they seem to be tightening up on their offerings abit and im not putting in half the games i did in the past however i still have nothing but positive things to say about them.

I agree with others here in that if you deposit via neteller, no social security numbers or anything like that should be necessary...I've found that many books make you jump through these hoops so that you keep the money in there and hopefully eventually lose it...with SIA, I'm not saying this is the case (although I have read several slow pay complaints about them)...I'm just saying many other books will use this as a smoke screen (much like the "clear" photo ID deal)...

In talks with SIA currently to see if I can persuade them into dropping this requirement for at the very least, Neteller clients.

Thus far no progress, but will keep the fight up you can rest assured.
