I agree with that. Points from one special tournament might turn everything upside. Weekend buy in tounament is okay, but the facebook tournament is only open for facebook users and not for everyone. I will never ever open a facebook account under the current terms and conditions facebook has.

#38im gonna try really hard to do well in the 'daily' tournaments often. this is going to be a lot of fun for whoever gets in.

#39also in-play coaching should be allowed. nobody can see the opponents' cards anyway plus they still have to make a choice as to if they want to listen- so how much can they really help? its not disallowed but some people might consider it bad manners unless it explicitly Is allowed.Comment -

#40you will need at least 5000 points to qualify for Team USA .
Team World would be easier at 1000 points .Comment -

#425,000 pts seems like a lot to guess you will need. There are 60 daily poker tournaments in the contest period that's an average of between 8th and 9th place points every single day, put another way you would need to win ~14% of the tournaments in the contest period to get to 5,000 points. You really think the 10th place US player is going to average enough points to have won a 14% of the tournaments? I would wager the highest scorer might get close to 5k pts, but no way 10th place needs that much.Comment -

#43shadius yes.
and no its not averaging 8th or 9th place every day because if u hit 2 1st's 2 2nds handful of 3rd and top 5s and u have 3-5k pts already bud.
ur underestimating these poker guys here greatly

#44Lou, any chance that you could offer a prize for the overall point earner after the qualifying period? Maybe a IPAD for that guy who does the best over the 2 month period? Or maybe 1000 points to the top 5 finishes over the 60 qualifying period?
Hell how about a prize for the player who did the best for the first 3 days of the contest?? I wonder that would be............Comment -

3,000 pts for the 10th place person is probably believable. But 5,000, it might happen but I wouldn't bet on it. Its not just about skill its also about odds and the odds are not in 5k being the cutoff for placing on the American team.
Lets put this another way, every day you don't cash, you have to come in 6th or higher just to make up the points from that day. If you win you are set for awhile, but if you come in even 2nd you only get a reprieve from having to cash for 4 days.Comment -

We have a deal. I am not getting great odds here, but gives me a reason to try and play everyday now. Last year I didnt even play more than 2-3 days a week.
But now I will attempt to come in near the end. I do think that one will need at least 3500 points to finish in the top 10. The leader of the US team will probably have around 6500 points.Comment -

#64I don't think I ever indicated I'd want to bet on myself to make team USA because team USA is going to be nearly impossible to qualify for, as I previously stated by myself and others. Not sure why you're offering me to bet on that, because you can't find a post by me saying I'm going to make team USA, or even that I have a good shot.
Give me 20/1.
I will bet on people to make team world because there aren't close to as many world posters.
It's pretty crazy how you have one team with hundreds trying to qualify for it and another with like 30-40.[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual

#68Yes, the world has many times the number of USA residents. However, people in the Middle East, South America, Africa, and Asia don't tend to be playing poker on American sports gambling websites for some reason. We do have a few Aussies here, though, and they might be like half the 'world' group. Ha.
I think on SBR, world is actually last behind both Europe and Canada in terms of active poker playing members.[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual

Every US player just needs to nominate which team they are on before a certain date. To avoid the id issues..Comment
