Neither. There is only one Team MVP awarded, and thus one iPad given out.

However, it does not go to a player from any specified team.

It goes to the player, out of all the participants, who earns the most wins for his or her team.

I was going by what was written:

Team MVP: iPad 2 or 5,000 SBR pts
*# of points for team
Tiebreaker: # of 1st place wins for team
Tiebreaker 2: If two or more players on different teams are tied after the above, the MVP on the higher placed team will be the victor.
Tiebreaker 2A: If two or more players on the same team are tied after the above, the player who netted the most points during the qualification period will be the victor.

Time value of money analysis only works if you're either giving something up where you would be making money to do, or you find no value in the entertainment of the thing you're doing. Personally I enjoy playing poker, the fact that I can win money doing it is an added bonus but its not the only reason I play, and I would imagine I am not alone. I would imagine most, even professional, players don't play poker because its an easy way to make money even though they hate it. Especially for professionals, there's 1,000 ways to hustle if you're smart and most pro players are really smart.

Beyond that your analysis doesn't factor in the fact that there's no additional time cost for the chance to win the 2500 SBR points. Every time you enter a tournament for an hour or so you have the chance to win up to 600 poker points(with a rollover of course), therefore you aren't just playing for the world cup points you are playing for the individual tournament points as well as the possibility of world cup points. So its really, 55 tournaments for the chance to win up to 33000 sbr poker points and 2500 SBR points. I won't presume to put an exact value on 33000 rolled over points but lets just say you can reasonably roll over at least 50% of them reliably with steady play that's a chance at 16500 SBR points + 2500 SBR points or a chance at up to 19000 SBR points which is the chance at up to $930 for 57 hours of work + whatever time it takes to rollover that many points lets say another 50 hours, so thats like $10/hr but again you're not doing something you hate and chances are you'd just be dicking around with that time anyway not doing something constructive that would earn you money.

Of course you really have no realistic shot at 600 every day, so even that's a bit exaggeration. 600 tops a week is probably much more likely, don't care enough to do the math but it will probably end up like what, 3 dollars an hour? If your crushing the games.

You make a good point though, unless you'd be earning money doing something else it's pointless to compare. But there are a few good players here, and I'm really not sure why they don't spend there time playing for actual money instead.

Im sure theres a solid batch in that group that probably makes the end regularly but it is still easier beating a 26 or whatever field than a 42 person field. Obviously if you have no clue then it doesnt matter what field your in your drawing dead. But if you are a decent player than of course you would want the smaller field
