How to make a team

• Rank in the top 10 for points won during SBR Poker tournament play from Jan 2nd-March 16th (SBR Poker 2012 schedule)*.

*unless expressly stated, all points won from added SBR Poker tourneys count as valid winnings.

• Ten slots will be assigned for each region. Leaderboards will be posted showing standings for each country. Tiebreaker will be SBRforum join date.

Team Match Schedule (March 19th — March 22nd)

• Ten tournaments per day running from 12:00PM-9:00PM EDT. Each event will be password protected. Your SBR Poker usernames will be altered to include your region.
• Four players per tournament (1 player from each region). It will be the responsibility of each team to decide which player will represent them per tourney. Players may compete in only one tournament per day. Players may not share the password with players that have not qualified under any circumstance - no points will be counted for that region.

Scoring details

• Each tournament will award 2 points for the winning team, and 1 point for the runner-ups team. Co-champions will be crowned in the event of a tie with an equal division of the pot. A leaderboard will be maintained in Players Talk showing how many points each team has.

Prize-pool
Winning team: 2,500 SBR points each
Runner-up: 1,500 poker pts each
3rd place: 1,000 poker pts each
4th place: 500 poker pts each
*poker pts 3X rollover

Team MVP: iPad 2 or 5,000 SBR pts
*# of points for team
Tiebreaker: # of 1st place wins for team
Tiebreaker 2: If two or more players on different teams are tied after the above, the MVP on the higher placed team will be the victor.
Tiebreaker 2A: If two or more players on the same team are tied after the above, the player who netted the most points during the qualification period will be the victor.

Fine-print

1. Must be an SBR Pro to represent any team. Reminders will be sent to players to players during the qualification period.
2. Users who are banned during the qualification period may lose their right to make a team at SBR's discretion, even if they are reinstated prior to March 19th.
3. One entry per household.

Correct. The MVP can choose between either an iPad 2 or 5,000 SBR pts.

mvp should be scored like the overall standings. 2 points for 1st place, 1 point for second place. if theres 4 events- the mvp is the guy who got 2nd place 3x and first place once. not the guy that got first place twice and second place zero times.

I'm gonna play but there is little chance I will make the team. I have this stubborn streak with my game that requires me to get the chips in the middle with the best of it and SBR's program has this stubborn streak that likes to reward the weaker hand. If not that then I like to be patient and wait for premium opportunities and SBR's program likes to blind me out before one arises.

The sick part is as brutal as it's been I still play just about every single day, hopelessly keeping the faith.

Depends on how you look at it. In a championship event with limited play opportunities, a guy that can seal the deal and finish 1st more times is seen as making more of a statement/being more valuable for his team, even if a guy that finished in second more managed to outpoint him.

Depends on how you look at it. In a championship event with limited play opportunities, a guy that can seal the deal and finish 1st more times is seen as making more of a statement/being more valuable for his team, even if a guy that finished in second more managed to outpoint him.

But since the winner is determined only by points, the one with more points is more valuable to his team, even if he merely placed second in each tournament he played and got no wins whatsoever.

Should limit qualifying points to the weekday tournaments only. Those facebook/weekend buy in/other specialty tournaments really seemed to skew the 2011 standings once they were added.
