FYI, Lebron is not 6 foot 8 either as it indicates on NBA.com. More like 6'9 or 6'10...

have you seen how big dwight howards hands are? he will grip a football in midair with one hand. he also jumps only a few inches less (vertical leap) than Randy Moss, but is 8 inches taller and is pure muscle, unlike moss. of course i'm not saying he could ever be a better receiver, but in the red zone, if you were to throw it up to dwight howard, none of those 6'1 cornerbacks or safeties are going up and getting that ball. It's not happening. People have a hard enough time going up and competing with calvin johnson for those jump balls, who is 6 inches shorter than dwight and the same vertical leap. if dwight howard trained to play football since he was a young boy, the guy would be the most intimidating player in the NFL today. No offensive lineman would be able to block him. Not even a chance. Dwight Howard would knock out ANY player in the NFL or NBA in a street fight.

Bc if you're over 7 feet and have any athletic ability whatsoever you can be a center in the NBA, why would you get your back broken as a goal line specialist to make 400k a year when you can make millions in the NBA. All you have to do is put your hands up and make it nearly impossible to shoot over you and get rebounds from guys a foot shorter than you and you can have Dick Vitale etc give you hours of compliments about what a great player you are for a year or 2 in college and then you're an automatic 1st rd draft pick

The problem with sports is that they were designed over a 100 years ago for pasty white guys to have recreation, so they were never intended to include 7'4 Nigerians participating in large #s. The games are set up in such a way that physical attributes like height and size automatically make you a great player. Who cares that Shaq cant shoot for shit, hes big and tall and for the game of basketball that's all it takes to be a great center

disagree about the street fight part...i think a guy like zaza really throwing down would keep coming no matter how many times he got hit and end up destroying him

but i think it'd be hilarious to see the defensive team have like five guys hanging around d-howard in the end zone looking like midgets

well said. dwight howard is sort of freakish not even fair to talk about him playing football because he would for sure be a great player. hes built like a 6'4 power forward but just much bigger. would catch 6+ TD's a year no doubt, who would stop him

Lineman block players twice as strong as Howard. He's like Julies peppers just weaker, small, too thin limbed and no football skill.

Street fight? Are you serious? That's laughable. He'd get his ass kicked by so many people....

Why would you think he'd beat everyone in a street fight? Big difference between knowing how to fight and looking like you could fight. He's not even big or strong. You've seen NBA players throw a punch....comedy. Larry Johnson would beat him to death in a fight if he was still in the NBA.

Most lineman/linebackers/safeties would beat the shit out of him too.

A street fight ? LOL There are alot of guys who could beat up Howard. Stephen Neal was one of the few men who beat Brock Lesnar in wrestling in college. He would take Howard down and pound him.

There aren't that many 7'+ guys in the world and the NBA is aggressively scouting them already anyway. If any exist with even marginal athletic ability, the NBA has already gobbled them up. But the NFL has had it's share of tall guys over the years, Ed "Too Tall" Jones quickly comes to mind. Thing is, NFL rosters are competitive enough as it is, it's hard to find room for a tall guy purely for the purpose of blocking FGs. Tall guys that have made it in the NFL were also otherwise skilled at their respective positions. So, in essence, overly focusing on a guy's height sorta reminds me of Al Davis' hyper focus on the 40 yard dash times.

When someone kicks a 55yard field goal someone like gronk or Graeme could easily block that in the end zone when it's coming down to the goal post.. Is that legal? Doubt it
