If you are acting within your legal rights and open carrying certainly qualifies, you can't be charged for disturbing the peace if you are simply exercising them in a responsible manner. How a citizen reacts to an individual exercising their rights is not an enforceable offense. However, a police officer may hassle an individual whose open carrying by stopping them, asking them if their gun is chambered, and attempting to do a serial check on the firearm, which is highly debatable, as an officer has to have probably cause to stop someone. In Utah, I have seen quite a few people open carry and I think the public is a little more educated on existing rights...however, I am not sure I would want to test open carry laws in certain states.

however if (when) someone calls the police, you can repeat 'open carry' all you want, you're gonna get a 'disturbing the peace' and your weapon confiscated.

Dont know how Ohio works, but i sit on my porch, cut my grass and everything with my weapon fully visible to everyone walking by including cops, not a single incident. It is only considered "brandishing" if it is concealed and then u show it in a "threating" manner.

Instead of wielding your strap like a maniac, you should probably consider checking with your city ordinance to see when the construction can actually begin. It varies from city to city but generally it is 8:00A.M. Keep in mind that they may also have an start early work permit.

If you really want to be a pain, you can do a little digging and see if they have paper work to do the kind of work they are doing, if not the city can stop their work for a while.

Either way, you'll probably just have to deal with it until they are finish.

            Good luck with that buddy.

I promise you, if you ever and I mean ever pull a gun or flip one from under your shirt you damn sure better be ready to use it. Either you are adult and have no clue about gun laws and therefore shouldn't be allowed to own one or you're a young kid who thinks life is a rap video or movie and still shouldn't be allowed to own a weapon. Whichever the case is, do that to the wrong person and you wind up dead. I've seen people do the same thing you wanted to do and it was the last thing they ever did. Don't ever pull a weapon unless you are ready to use it. I learned a long time ago. There's only going to be one person left to tell the story and you better damn sure, make sure that person is you.

Can you get in trouble for brandishing a machette, a baseball bat, a golf club or how about a 2x4?
